Poll: Bush, Kerry locked in tight race in Nevada
RENO, Nevada A statewide poll shows that President Bush and Democrat John Kerry remain locked in a tight contest in Nevada _ a battleground state that Bush won by nearly four percentage points in 2000.

Bush had the backing of 44 percent, Kerry 42 percent and independent candidate Ralph Nader two percent in the Reno Gazette-Journal and K-R-N-V News Four poll released today.

In June, Bush had 48 percent and Kerry 42 percent. Bush had an eleven percentage point lead in the state in March.

17. Gore won Wisconsin by less than 1 percentage point
so it's no surprise that would be close.

2. Other polls have showed it to be a tossup as well.
I think Californians and Utah & Idaho dems need to a little "bleeding Nevada" even if it is just 5 electoral votes.

7. What will polls show after the Repository National Convention?
Will New York City throw Silver Dollars as freepers drive down Broad Street, will they kneel subjectively and kiss the feets of George, Arnold, or Rudy? Is assuming Bush might be disappointed an understatement?

Remember that even McGovern's support for Humphrey couldn't stop what happened in Chicago. Even Rocky couldn't help Tricky Dick or Ford after Watergate. George may be President only because of his brother, but does he really think Colin Powell can make it happen a second time?

8. I read that Repubs always outnumbered Dems in Nevada
However, recent registration drives have been so successful, that Dems now have a 10,000 voter advantage.

11. Fact is, Dems outnumber Repugs. Las Vegas is solidly Dem,
while the rural areas are Repug, and Reno, a mix of both. Kerry will take the state this year. Also note, that the Repugs there are VERY independent minded. They don't like the "church-state" crap Bush is pulling, nor his giant deficits. They're more Pat Buchanan type Repugs.

13. Only just over 700 voters.
Not nearly 10,000.

Before that, repukes led by just under 1,200 voters.

12. Your posts are interesting, Valabor
All about how Kerry's not doing well and the Fuhrer is doing swell. I'm hoping you are counterbalancing these with reality in some way.

in Nevada. Quite a positive development shrinking the Bush lead from 11 to 2 points in a red state.

This person doesn't get to post often but has been around a long time and is usually very informative. I thought it was a great article.
