WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Republican National Committee raised about $7.9 million last month and started August with $24.6 million on hand, more than three times as much as its Democratic counterpart had in the bank.

The Democratic National Committee raised about $3.2 million in July and opened this month with about $7.7 million on hand.

1. Money ain't gonna buy them love...
...and it isn't going to go toward creating jobs (anywhere other than in India). If, despite all that's happened, these MutherPhukers manage to BUY the office AGAIN, well, then Democracy is dead, and it'll be time to storm the Bastille...

7. Money can buy a lot of things
5 minutes of love is one of them. They don't have to do what they say they are going to to, they only have to get the word out that they said they were going to do something. That traslates into 5 minutes of love at the ballot box. The more air time they get, the more commercials they can air the more they get this to the people. If the DNC etc.. can not put up an add to counter theirs, then it is roll over and take it AGAIN time. You will not change the mind of the driven individual. From what I understand that is 50% of the population, 30% GOP and 20% Dem. It is the other 50% that will be swayed by the barrage of ads and other such propaganda. If all they hear is Wesley Clark is bad, or Howard Dean is bad, or John Kerry is bad, or etc... then people will believe it. Your average individual will not research the issue, they will take it for granted that the ads are truthful. We either need to out money the GOP, or we really need to out work the GOP. By out work I mean to spread the word, talk to people. Engage in conversations and address the issue. The poeple in the North East need to get out and talk of the sin of deregulation now that they have had the blackouts there. The Gov. of Alabama did the Dems a big favor by calling on Jesus Christ as the reason for needing a tax hike. Give to the less fortunate, that is in the book of Luke. The southern GOP cried, how could they continue to be christians and cut social programs at the same time, they were confused. That is the type of thing that will help. Work it, be an oppurtunist. Kick them when they are down.

8. You have your facts wrong.
Last election it was about 30/30 split with 1/2 million more Democrats voting for Gore.

Why on Earth would any Democrat change their vote this time?
How many "Republicans" will either vote Dem or not vote at all?
How many Greens/Independents will make the same mistake in 2004?

No, I have no doubt that in a honest and fair election, Democrats will kick this selected criminal out of office...the problem, of course, is making sure the election is honest amd fair.

$25MM can buy a lot of corruption.

11. Those stats are what I have heard
The last election may have been different. I am sure in any given election those numbers change. The way that Bush is polarizing this nation I would not be suprised if both of our figures were way off come Nov.'04. I was talking in a general sense, trends over time.

I could have been wrong also. I do know that Gore won the popular vote, I do not doubt that one bit. But then again the Bush polarizing started back then, and it continues today.

6. The Democrats have no control over what the Republicans raise
They should only worry about their own fundraising. If the Democrats raise enough money any disparity will not matter. I was doing some research on lexis-nexis and in 1986 the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee outraised the Democrats $60 million to $6 million and they still lost the Senate. Besides Democrats have an advantage in big states like New York and California and therefore do not need to raise as much money.

9. We're far more frugal
We can beat the Republicans sensless with about a third of what they raise and spend. We simply spend money far more wisely.
