1. well If the US continues into Najaf....
There well may be 1000 dead before the RNC convention. No wonder there is a news blackout.

3. Or on Sept 2nd before Bush's acceptance speech...

that would be morbid poetic justice, but it very well could happen as things are ready to bust over there.
:(

Saw a TV ad last night for the "Army Reserves" -- I thought, yeah... right... you're wasting our tax dollars with that airtime.

2. Iraq Coalition Casualties show the number to be 943
more minimizing on the part of the media.

I am so sorry for all of the lives lost and ruined by our country's illegal invasion of a sovereign nation.

8. Al-Jazeera reporting 946 US Dead....

http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/9E646751-B507-45C9-A9EC-62A530970EFD.htm

US toll increase

A US soldier was also shot dead and a number wounded in a series of rocket-propelled grenade attacks in the Sadr City district, bringing the toll to 946 since Iraq's invasion and occupation.

Persistent gunfire, punctuated by mortar blasts, also paralysed Najaf's historic Old City as US warplanes screeched overhead and snipers took up position around the Imam Ali mausoleum.

But Ghalib al-Jazairi, Najaf's police chief, has threatened to storm the shrine "and kill each one of them" unless the al-Mahdi Army fighters disarm and leave of their own accord.

Meanwhile, in the southern city of Nasiriya, three Italian soldiers were wounded when their patrol was targeted by fighters seemingly separate to al-Mahdi Army, the ANSA news agency said.

10. It is so sad
that this is slipping beneath the average persons radar. We have been numbed and slowly convinced through an incessent campaign that war is a glorious escapade and dying for your country a truly honorable thing.
In this case it ain't..............
