Fernandez assumes power in Dominican Republic
TOUGH JOB: The public has high hopes that the new president can help the country out of its doldrums

Challenges abound for Leonel Fernandez as he returns to the presidency this week, aiming to lead the Dominican Republic out of its worst economic crisis in decades by asking its people to accept painful economic sacrifices.

Fernandez, who as president from 1996 to 2000 presided over relative stability, trounced outgoing President Hipolito Mejia in May 16 elections by promising a return to progress.

What a bunch of lies! I have been reading/listening to this "hopes" crap lies the Power Elite Media publishes for 40 years. They rich/powerful will NEVER do anything to benefit citizens. Power and wealth are their only goals and anything will be used to obtain it including lies and murders.
