That was supposed to be "My home TOWN must pay $2,500,000..."
The Jury awarded the mother of Malik Jones, a young black man who was chased for DWB in East Haven, a suburb of New Haven with an all-white police force to match its mostly white population, cornered just a few blocks from his home and shot point blank at least 5 times, because he refused to stop and exit the car.

I spent several days at the trial myself and the verdict by 6 whites and one lone black woman (4 women and 3 men) surprised me.
The town says it will appeal. All of the decisions prior to this one (by white functionaries) have gone against the victims.
