Kerry gets their 'Goat' GOPers rip nominee's 9/11 jab at W
New York Daily News

WASHINGTON - Republicans scolded Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry yesterday for saying President Bush reacted too slowly the morning of Sept. 11 after he learned that America was under attack.

"I think people second-guessing whether the President spent five minutes or six minutes more doing something is second-guessing of the worst kind," former Mayor Rudy Giuliani said on ABC's "This Week." ..

.. Giuliani, however, switched jerseys momentarily to play for the opposing team when he decried the overall negative tone of the presidential campaign, citing as an example new GOP-funded TV spots calling Kerry's Vietnam War heroics a lie.

"I think people on the Republican side are wrong to do that," Giuliani said. ..

I find it a breath of fresh air to find news outside the mainstream media. There aren't many local or national outlets that pick "liberal" good news in this election.

By the way, you will notice that not onlyt did Dumbya sit there motionless for seven minutes, nobody came to ASK the unelected drunk what ought to be done either. His own people knew he was useless in an emergency.

9. He certainly didn't respond that way
Despite anything you might disagree with about his policies/politics, Rudy acted like a mensch on 9/11, down at the WTC within minutes of the second plane hit, taking command and leading.

23. He was already down at the WTC
Yers he did not act like a coward but I question if his role in 9-11 is as hero or villian. He was in wtc7 which housed a lot of controversial SCC info as well as CIA offices and Rudy's "emergency comand center".

WTC 7 collapsed even though it was not struck by any debrie from the planes or other towers. Watching the video of it's collapse is surealas it looks like a controlled demo. Mr. Silverstien said in an interview post 9-11 that he decided to "pull the building" that day. What was he talking about?

that Chimpy sat there smirking and twitching? They prefer defending "five or six minutes" rather than the twenty five he spent hanging out and screwing the pooch at that school. That should be the immediate response whenever the five six or seven minute excuses start to flow.

47. And Dubya's was holding his copy of the book upside down!
Remember those images? While his lips are squirming and his eyes are bugging and wandering around like a deer in headlights?

Furthermore, it was SEVEN minutes with the kids, Mr. Giuliani, NOT "five or six" and ANOTHER TWENTY minutes before he left the building, after all the TV cameramen had left. THAT'S A TOTAL OF TWENTY-SEVEN MINUTES OF UTTER INACTION, Mr. Guilianai, after being told "America is under attack!" (at which point the secret service knew for certain that both towers of the WTC had been hit with jetliners). TWENTY-SEVEN MINUTES!!! Enough time for the Pentagon to be hit and for Flight 93 to crash in Pennsylvania. Yet not one military plane was scrambled to intercept any of these planes in time, a violation of the most basic of protocols.

Go watch Farenheit 9/11, Mr. Guiliani. Learn the facts before opening your stupid partisan mouth.

Not to mention, prior to arriving at the school, Bush and all the people with him knew of the first jetliner to smash into the north tower of the WTC, yet they incredibly continued on to that stupid photo-op anyway, without taking ANY action whatsoever!

Do any of you feel safe from terrorists with this kind of *mis*leadership???

There can be only one reasonable inference from these facts: Bush knew it was about to happen and made certain he dawdled in that classroom for 27 minutes to allow Al Queda to complete its mission. He and his PNAC neocon rethugs needed that "Pearl Harbor" mentioned in PNAC documents to frighten the Congress and the public into supporting its distracting invasion of Iraq, based on its mountain of treasonous lies.

Are you reading this Karl Rove, or one of your clones in your little war-room? Well CHENEY ALL OF YOU!!!

48. They were ALL in on it...
the Secret Service, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Rice, Wolfowitz, (Powell was in Peru) Bush, and no one could find the heads of Norad and the FAA, and Richard Clarke was left alone to run across town three blocks to the White House after the first plane hit the WTC, first to Cheney's office, then to speak with Rice, then to take complete charge of the situation while everyone else were following clandestine orders to STAND DOWN AND LET IT HAPPEN! By the time Clarke arrived in Cheney's office it the second jumbo jet had hit the south tower of the WTC. NO ONE TOOK CHARGE OF ANYTHING BUT CLARKE, and Clarke was stymied left and right in attempting to get *someone* to do their jobs, until it was too late, the Pentagon had been hit, and flight 93 would have hit Congress or the White House if the brave passengers hadn't entered the cockpit causing the hijackers to down the plane in a Pennsylvania field. NOT ONE MILITARY JET HAD BEEN SCRAMBLED for over an hour after the first warnings from air controllers that numerous jets had been hijacked and were heading for NYC and D.C.

It's inconceivable and unprecedented and the only possible explanation is a massive conspiracy among the top level people in the administration to order everyone to stand down and let it happen. Long before the first jumbo jet hit the north tower of the WTC numerous phone calls had to have gone out from trained air controllers about planes diverting off course, pilots not answering calls, i.e. the definitive signs of numerous hijackings with planes diverted to NYC and D.C. Yet the head of the FAA and the commander of NORAD had disappeared that morning to undisclosed locations and by 9:30 a.m. Clarke still couldn't find anyone who could find them. Read Clarke's book of his account of his personal experiences that day. It's chilling. Cheney did nothing. Rice did nothing. Rumsfeld did nothing. Wolfowitz did nothing. Bush went to a ludicrous and useless photo-op in his brother's state despite knowledge by him and the Secret Service not only of the hijackings but the first plane hitting the north tower of the WTC. Yet they continued on to the school anyway, and after being warned that "Our country is under attack!" Bush sat there with the kids another SEVEN MINUTES, remained in the school doing absolutely nothing for another TWENTY MINUTES, a total of TWENTY SEVEN MINUTES, i.e. past 9:30 a.m.

All these bastards WANTED it to happen and arranged in advance for everyone to stand down and refuse to do their jobs or even show up for work, so that it COULD and WOULD happen.

The look on Bush's face that morning was nagging, surpressed guilt over his involvement and participation in this conspiracy, and fear that he and his evil cohorts might someday be held to account for it. Thus the "deer-in-headlights" blank stares, so distracted and frozen in place he couldn't even hold his "PET GOAT" book right-side-up.

And the Repukes have the gall to continue to attempt to make excuses for and lie until they're blue in the face to explain all this away?

The men who conspired to assassinate JFK, their offspring and their recruits have come to roost in the White House and the Congress. These are ruthless, greedy, murderous monsters who must be either booted out, then charged and imprisoned, or hunted down and destroyed, before our country will ever be safe and sound again.

12. Thank you
That point needs to be pounded home again and again.

To those defending the Chimp--see, that is the thing about leadership, it is about reacting appropriately during an emergency. That is why My Pet Goat is SOOOO important. Like when somebody on your crew gets thrown overboard, or the enemy is firing at you and you still manage to complete your mission. Personally, I know I'm not cut out for that sort of thing. That is why I am not running for elected office. However; if you ask for the job, you damn well better be able to carry it out.

Their other name is a lie so why not get a shot in whenever they are discussed. And clearly, they are veterans who prefer someone who sits through a reading of My Pet Goat when the nation is under attack.

And of course, the first plane hits at 8:48. Bush does nothing to respond until at least 9:25. Seven minutes is "fuzzy math, fudgin' the numbers!"

Edited on Mon Aug-09-04 09:28 AM by rocknation
Bush was INFORMED that four planes had been hijacked, and that one had hit a WTC tower, BEFORE he left to go to the school. In addition he'd gotten a memo LESS THAN A MONTH BEFORE warning that something like this might happen--therefore, HE NEVER SHOULD HAVE SET FOOT IN THAT CLASSROOM IN THE FIRST PLACE! If the worst thing Kerry said was that Bush was too slow to react, then he's done him a FAVOR!

24. Maybe not before they left for the school but indeed before he entered the
I kinmda debunked the before he left for the school thing when I did my doc on the 9-11 cover up. If you are basing that report on the ABC reporters transcript it is inaccurate. I have the actuall footage of that exchange and in it he was not referencing the attacks but an education bill that was being discussed.

He did however know before he entered the school at least as his situation room chief admitted as much in an interview she did with a catholic paper in the midwest.

She claims they all knew before the entered the school.

18. Bush announced America was under attack in front of the kids
In spite of his claim to not want to frighten the little ones -

http://www.boston.com/news/packages/underattack/globe_stories/0912/Bush_vows_a_ruthless_manhuntP.shtml

''Today we've had a national tragedy. Two airplanes have crashed into the World Trade Center in an apparent terrorist attack on our country,'' Bush said at 9:30 a.m. to the stunned gathering of children, parents, and teachers at Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Fla.

That kind of statement kinda undoes the earlier claimed effort at calm to keep from traumatising the children.

41. I believe al-Qaeda deliberately avoided targeting children.
Edited on Mon Aug-09-04 10:28 PM by TahitiNut
I believe the number of children killed in al-Qaeda attacks worldwide and going back 10-15 years is extraordinarily low, far lower than can be explained by randomness. (McVeigh & Co. killed far more young children in one bombing, I believe, than al-Qaeda has in all of theirs.) I believe the 'intelligence' people and the 'terrorism experts' know this. (After all, we once worked with al-Qaeda.) I believe the Busholini Regime knows this. I believe staying at an elementary school on 9/11 was no accident.

Go ahead. Call me delusional. :tinfoilhat:
(I'd be more inclined to change my beliefs if provided with facts, though.)

support the chimp. Last year, long before Michael Moore spilled the beans, I brought up the chimp's inaction at Booker to a repuke who had told me he was proud of the moron's "leadership" on 9/11. His response, "I don't believe it, but even if it's true, I'm sure he was only trying not to scare the children..."

If a Dem president had been sitting there like a dumbass, the repukes wouldn't have bothered to impeach him. They'd have applied the kind of pressure that brings about a resignation.

37. This so pisses me off
The attitude that comes off of GOP'ers (aka moranic fearmongers) is basically this:

How DARE you question the actions of our great emperor?

I know it's tough for them to handle, but this is STILL a Democracy. I now it's not convienent for Republicans because they want one view, one way, one people (white ones) but too fucking bad.

Oh, Kerry didn't "attack" the great false commander in chief. He simply answered a question he was asked.

And it wasn't six or seven minutes. The media is the biggest fraud of all. He did nothing for a least a half hour to defend this country.
