Turkey Won't Truck Goods to U.S. in Iraq
ANKARA, Turkey - The Turkish truckers association said Monday that it will no longer transport goods to U.S. forces in Iraq (news - web sites) in an attempt to get kidnappers to release Turkish hostages.

The announcement came as a video posted on the Internet showed militants apparently shooting dead a Turkish hostage kidnapped in Iraq. It was not clear when the shooting took place.

Cahit Soysal, head of the International Transportation Association said that Turkish truckers are hoping that kidnappers now release two other Turkish drivers they are holding.

Soysal said that 200-300 Turkish trucks bring supplies to U.S. forces in Iraq every day.

2. whoa
Those kidnapping terrorists sure know what they are doing in their campaign, hitting where it hurts most. I can't even imagine what kind of logistics hell getting supplies to Coalition troops in Iraq is - and the situation is getting worse all the time...

I wonder exactly what 'GOODS' they will now be missing and how they will work around it?

Do you think it will force them home sooner? We can only hope!!!

7. Michael called us, the scuttlebutt is his unit might come home in Nov
and thats the unit at Abu Ghraib right now. They are being moved into trailors, whatever that means. Something fishy is going on, as usual. Very odd. The whole unit has seen Farenheit 9/11, by the way.

8. GREAT news Mari333!!!!
Ya, moved into trailers? So, maybe they are moving them FROM AG into another area with trailers OR they were embarassed about the living conditions of everyone at AG and decided to upgrade them to livable conditions?

Well, I'm sure everyone here will be praying that it IS true...the November coming home date!

10. so far its scuttlebutt, but I sure hope so
sooner would be better...! I heard from my friend in SF, when her son returned, it was like night and day..such a difference in her stress levels..I will never, ever forget , when Michael returns, what this war has done to the world, and to our family. I will never ever forget the hell we have been thru or the hell the world and especially Iraqi people have been thru..for
nothing. Im tired of waiting for the war criminals in the WH to be frog marched.

11. What did the unit think if F-911?
How's morale for them?

How long has Michael been in Iraq? Is he active duty, NG or Reserves?
