Cheney: Dems trying to 'rewrite history' on war
Vice President Dick Cheney on Monday accused his Democratic opponents of "trying to rewrite history for their own political purposes" when they criticize the Bush administration for going to war based on flawed prewar intelligence.

2. This is clever
Acusing the Democrats of the very things the Bush Administration is doing.
Of course they're going to go on the attack. The danger is that Cheney can
evade responsibility for going to war with flawed intelligence - by rewriting history for his own political purposes.

Its an outrageous lie stated with indignation and self rightiousness.

He is the epitome of evil and it is dangerous to ever underestimate this man.

3. Projection
The attribution of one's own attitudes, feelings, or desires to someone or something as a naive or unconscious defense against anxiety or guilt.

Has anyone in history ever been better at it the current crop of rethugs?

people 'historical revisionists'." Didn't this gem come from * with regard to the Iraq invasion earlier this year?

9. cheney "lying" for political purposes. all Kerry has to do is stay on
message... cheney is LYING like he has about everything in the past. he is a LIAR and he is incapable of tellling the truth. look at that sneer... do you think he went through his whole life with a crooked body and that crooked sneer TELLING THE TRUTH? people who tell the truth are benevolent and direct and kind and good, and cheney is a lying, swearing, sneering, bent-up creepazoid.

12. This is their M.O.
It's the "I'm rubber, you're glue" pre-emptive approach.

Just like they jumped all over the Ken Lay thing to try to connect him with the Democrats, because if they say it FIRST, then we always look like we are being defensive.

Cheney is really the epitome of evil.

15. My husband said he figured each kid who dies over there is worth
about a billion dollars to Halliburton.

Cool, 'eh? Our loved ones are worth far more to this administration - dead than alive.

He states

"Sens. John Kerry and John Edwards, the presumed Democratic presidential ticket, reviewed the same reports on Iraq that were given to President Bush and supported the decision to go to war, Cheney said."

Hey Dick, they gave your Adminstration authority to do it's job

Do you remember when the NSA was sent out to do this?

Revealed: US dirty tricks to win vote on Iraq war

Secret document details American plan to bug phones and emails of key Security Council members

Read the memo

Talk about it: dirty tricks?

Martin Bright, Ed Vulliamy in New York and Peter Beaumont
Sunday March 2, 2003
The Observer

The United States is conducting a secret 'dirty tricks' campaign against UN Security Council delegations in New York as part of its battle to win votes in favour of war against Iraq.
(snip)
The memo describes orders to staff at the agency, whose work is clouded in secrecy, to step up its surveillance operations 'particularly directed at... UN Security Council Members (minus US and GBR, of course)' to provide up-to-the-minute intelligence for Bush officials on the voting intentions of UN members regarding the issue of Iraq.

The leaked memorandum makes clear that the target of the heightened surveillance efforts are the delegations from Angola, Cameroon, Chile, Mexico, Guinea and Pakistan at the UN headquarters in New York - the so-called 'Middle Six' delegations whose votes are being fought over by the pro-war party, led by the US and Britain, and the party arguing for more time for UN inspections, led by France, China and Russia.

The memo is directed at senior NSA officials and advises them that the agency is 'mounting a surge' aimed at gleaning information not only on how delegations on the Security Council will vote on any second resolution on Iraq, but also 'policies', 'negotiating positions', 'alliances' and 'dependencies' - the 'whole gamut of information that could give US policymakers an edge in obtaining results favourable to US goals or to head off surprises'.

They want the Dems to take responsibilty for the republicans invading Iraq, talk about rewriting history.
