It should be interesting to see him in that air-conditioned room with all the fat cats.

He's taking his time rolling that statement out, isn't he?

I can't remember a President in wartime (or when US troops were actively engaged abroad) who was so brazen about vacations and fundraising instead of doing his damn job. I don't even think Ronnie was this ballsy. Anyone?

that the videos of W after major events are not live.

Remember the Columiba disaster. It took W 5 hours to get his act together and the networks screwed up when they ran the video and it was obvious that it had been taped.

They're afraid to let him go live, cause he's likely to blow it.

51. my guess: they don't want his location known
It seems to me the only logical explanation for this behavior -- which Keith Olberman described as "bizarre" -- is that they don't want him on live because then his whereabouts would be easily known. If this is right, then the further extrapolation of this reaction is that they are not as confident as they profess regarding the non-involvement of terrorists.

62. I doubt that
The Orange County Register said that he would be touching down at 8:30 at the local Joint Services base on his way to Irvine, and he rolled in at a little after 8:30, just like clockwork.

It's more likely they don't want him screwing something up and making people more nervous. I vet my kid for a trip to the in-laws less than this guy needs to be!

Exactly what I was thinking--what if they're lying about this not being another very clever attack? What with dropping approval ratings, climbing unemployment and soldiers firing blindly in Iraq, I can see where admitting to a second terrorist attack would make the Pretzel-Dunce look even more imcompetent. Pretend it was another act of God--that's the ticket!!!!

It seemed to me he was even less "presentable" than usual. And who were the damned "reporters" that were there? He called their names and none of them sounded familiar, nor did any of their voices. Did he just pull people out of a crowd and ask them to act like reporters? I would definitely mark this as among his poorer performances.

A brownout over a neighborhood, followed by a brownout in another neighborhood could be called a "rolling blackout."

Just a feeling, whether it's about whatever the cause was, or a total lack of preparedness, I don't know, but I saw his call for an investigation as not sincere. In fact I'm expecting the dems being the ones to call for serious investigations, and for the White House to stonewall them as usual.

What if this was a test of gaming the about to be deregulated systems in NY state, like they did with the wild fluxuations of the kwatt price in CA before the real raping started? What if the gaming strategy caused this? I think that is a more likely explanation than lightning strikes in Ontario this afternoon.
