FORMER Huntingdon MP John Major today stepped into the row over intelligence used in the run-up to the Iraq war, calling for an independent inquiry. ---

"We are in the middle of the war on terror. No-one knows what our troops will be asked to do next. I think it is very important indeed that Parliament and public accept unquestioningly the veracity and faith of the Government at a time when they may be asking troops to go into war.

"Unless this is cleared up there is a danger that, were a similar circumstance to arise, Parliament and public would not have the faith they have had in the past."

Mr Major said he did not believe that the inquiry currently under way by the Parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee would be sufficient. ---

Blair was promised mucho dinero, blanket immunity and international prestige to go along with this BoD seat on the Carlisle BoD, as long as he delivered Brit support and accomodation for the neocon middle east agenda. Now poodle is feeling the pinch. The media in the UK is NOT giving poodle and co. the free pass they had hoped for, unlike the puppet press in the US. Call a spade a spade, the whole damned middle east charade was and is a crap shoot. shrubco is betting they will be able to pull off a large majority of their priorities before being derailed by the American public.
