Fox News censured for rant at BBC
"Fox News, the US news network owned by Rupert Murdoch, has been found in breach of British broadcasting rules for an on-air tirade that accused the BBC of "frothing-at-the-mouth anti-Americanism".
Television regulators said the broadcaster failed to show "respect for truth" in a strongly worded opinion item, broadcast on the day the Hutton report was published, which also accused BBC executives of giving reporters a "right to lie".

3. Yet another new slogan for Faux News
From the Franken case we had:

Faux News - Wholly without merit

Now we have:

Faux News - No respect for the truth

10. FAUX News is as twisted as the administration they support
"It is the third ruling by British regulators against Fox News, which is available in Britain to Sky Digital customers, in the past year. It broke the rules on "undue prominence" in two previous news items which plugged beauty products and a seed manufacturer."

FAUX news couldn't hold BBC's jock strap.

8. Slap on the wrist
Big deal, so they were censured. And according to the article the regulations are going to be rewritten anyway and Faux will be exempt in Britian, as they are here, from sticking to facts and telling the truth. They get away with murdering the truth all the time and nobody who could do something about it really gives a shit.

9. Why don't americans do something about Foxnews?
Ok so the Brits are powerless to stop Fox news but why do americans let Foxnews get away with their claim that they are "Fair and Balanced"?
Don't you guys have some kind of watchdog that you can complain to?
Are companies allowed to make untrue claims in their advertising there?

11. We live under a corporatist regime these days...
So we could complain, but only to deaf ears. The thinking of the neo-cons is that if something generates revenue, it is good. Ever since the Supreme Court awarded personhood to corporations, they've had the protection of the Bill of Rights. So they are allowed to lie all they want- free speech.
