Abu Ghraib General Says Told Prisoners 'Like Dogs'
Reuters Story Here

<snip>
Janis Karpinski, the one-star general responsible for the military police who ran prisons in Iraq when pictures were taken showing prisoners being abused, said she and her soldiers were being made scapegoats for abuse ordered by others.

In the interview with Britain's BBC radio, Karpinski said Geoffrey Miller, a two-star general sent to Iraq from the U.S. prison camp at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, had ordered new procedures in cell blocs where Iraqis were interrogated.

"He said, at Guantanamo Bay we've learned that the prisoners have to earn every single thing they have," Karpinski said.

"He said they are like dogs, and if you allow them to believe at any point they are more than a dog then you've lost control of them." Emphasis added

1. No, decent human beings treat dogs better then that
so much like the Nazi behaviour towards the human beings in Germany called the Jewish people. If you dehumanize a group and it comes from the top down, WHICH WE KNOW IT DID, RIGHT FROM THE WHITE HOUSE,
then you can get away with what happened there, and create a delusion in your own warped mind that its okay to harm others .
Racism at its worst, dehumanization of a whole group of people, and we are now the bad guys all over the world.
If Bush mentions "rape rooms" or "torture chambers" of Saddam again, a collective vomitting should occur amongst every US citizen ...

2. They are also referred to by the troops
As RAG HEADS, TOWEL HEADS AND SAND NIGGERS.

They are gunned down by 18 and 19 tear old heroes from back woods where ever.

The average cretin who walks the streets and intends to vote for the CHIMPANZEE despises them and blames all of them for 9-11. There are thousands of Amerikans who would kill them all for CHRIST </sarcasm>

5. Proves Miller was the conduit
that brought the Guantanamo torture to Iraq. (Although we already knew that)

Step by step, we get closer to an unbroken line from Lynndie England to her Commander In Chief, George W. Bush.

6. Nothing new... * treats all around him who don't have the $$$$
like dogs. Have we all checked our wallets, freedom of speech, retirement accounts, jobs, etc. lately? He doesn't give a (fill in blank here) about anyone but himself and those around him getting their wallets lined!

That is why they don't care that our soldiers are dying for stupid reasons and little but nothing in the way of monetary reward while the mercs are paid outrageous amounts!

It all stems from his attitude towards other people who are lesser than him and who are heathens in his mind! Little man syndrome...everyone else is a piece of crap, ignorant, worthless except him; therefore, you can lie, cheat, steal, or whatever in order to reach your goals because they are of no significant importance anyway!

7. what do they have against dogs?
I personally don't shave them naked, make them simulate sex acts and/or humiliate them to death, mostly with my blue gloved fists, nor hook up electrodes to their genitals.

Let's be frank -- these guys did something that NOT EVEN a wild animal would do to another animal, ever, under any imaginable circumstance. It takes a human to do it.

8. Yep, these folks are using the old Nazi ideology of a subhuman taxonomy
as well as the old Nazi ploy of "passing laws" to sanction their PNAC agenda.

A bunch of Nazi zealots-this is what the neo-conservative traitors have promoted within OUR military.

NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.

13. Don't remember EVER seeing this level of dissention at upper ranks.
Not since MacArthur challenged Truman have I seen an active duty general take such a combative approach toward higher command. I don't remember ever hearing one active duty general specifically accuse or condemn another in the same branch.

I'm glad she's doing it. She's being set up to take the fall. It sounds to me like her command was taken over by "superior" male generals. They were able to dictate orders on how her command should be run without taking responsibility for their ultimate impact.

15. And Miller is now in charge of Abu Ghraib
What kind of signal does that send to the world? What is wrong with this picture.

Who is Responsible?
By Jack Rabbit

the Bush administration wants to send signals that this situation at Abu Ghraib is just some sort of mistake, then it is sending the wrong ones. First, they have sent to clean up the wrongdoing at Abu Ghraib none other than General Geoffrey Miller, fresh from his command at Guantanamo Bay. In light of the alleged violations of human rights at Guantanamo, this seems a bit like trying to clear up some irregularities in the accounting department by putting a suspected embezzler in charge.
Second, Mr. Bush has appointed and the US Senate has confirmed John Negroponte as US ambassador to Iraq. It is widely regarded that as US ambassador to Iraq Mr. Negroponte will act as the colonial governor, replacing Paul Bremer. Mr. Negroponte's current post is as ambassador to the United Nations, where he was instrumental in promoting the prevarications that Mr. Bush used to justify the invasion of Iraq. However, what makes Mr. Negroponte's appointment as ambassador to Iraq even more curious is his history as a facilitator of human rights violations when he served as ambassador to Honduras during the Reagan years.

16. Quite bullocks
Because you can not throw cold water on your dog and let him sleep in the wet cold weather, you can not kick you dog or bite him among other things. You can not stitch him up afterwords yourself among many other things... Although some of the rules might be different in different parts of the US. This general should be in jail for animal cruelty. Heck the cops should give her a good beating first for beating her dog up and killing a few of them.

Now is she had come out and said, treat them like Arabs I can understand that because I have seen how white people treat others. But I had thought things were changing......
