Anti-war protest at Rumsfeld's home

Roughly 2,000 anti-war demonstrators have marched to the home of US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to call for an end to the American-led occupation of Iraq.

After holding a rally in front of the White House on Saturday, protesters walked almost 90 minutes through downtown Washington to Rumsfeld's house, demanding that the Bush administration withdraw US troops.

"The US should leave Iraq immediately," said Brian Becker, a coordinator for International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism), an activist group that organised the event.

Becker said the defense secretary's home was the target of the march because Rumsfeld had become the "face of this war."

I recall reading right before we marched to war, some protesters went to one of Rumsfeld's houses in Texas (he has 6). They scattered children's clothing around his property which were stained with red paint. The message was, "many innocent children will bleed because of you".

I read that Rummy was apoplectic when he heard about this. I thought, "good". Maybe that will give him something to think about.

This is even better. They should have demonstrations on his front lawn every day. They should spill out into the streets and alleyways, making sure the neighbors get 10 times to read the banners.

That ought to make for pleasant dinner conversations at his neighbors house.

If more people would get out everyday across the country, and protest like this, it would certainly draw attention to Bushco's lies and scandals. When people see others doing stuff like this, it makes them question things.
