Mexico's Zapatista rebels have gathered in their hundreds in the southern state of Chiapas for a public celebration aimed at relaunching the movement.

The three-day event, which began on Friday, is billed as a musical jamboree along with the more serious business of launching a self-proclaimed Good Government initiative.

A government bid to stave off autonomy moves by offering new talks has been rejected by the rebels, who seek to represent Mexico's 12 million Indians.

1. I think it's stupid to have an agragarian socialist party...
Farming by nature requires an almost feudal system. I call it a land and resource exploitation based business. Actually the most socialist-friendly business sector is technology.

4. life was worse...
When we were an agragarian society. The greatest societal reforms occured with technological breakthroughs. You know the industry that causes the most environmental damage is farming?

5. Hmmmm....Do ya think Poppy is behind this rebellion like Venezuela?
The shrub family has not been happy with the rejection from
Fox over the War and the Global Warming.

I wouldn't be surprised if money is being pumped in to support
the Zapatistas.

Didn't Poppy bush named one of his oil subsidiaries the Zapatistas.

Interesting psychology Poppy has, chips on sholders and vengence
are his fulltime occupation.

What a decrepted soul.

7. You Should Look into it
Zapata was a folk hero, and there are place-names for him. I'd look into whether Bush's corp was named for the man, or for the place w/out him knowing all that much about Emilio. Cause he doesn't sound like someone a Bush would tribute.
