Rumsfeld Delays $20 Billion Deal With Boeing

In an action that delays a controversial decision until after the November election, Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced he was holding off on a $20 billion contract with Boeing for aerial refueling tankers pending further studies of the proposed deal.


Mr. Rumsfeld's decision, which was expected, puts the high-profile project outside of election-year politics and gives the Pentagon additional time to come up with alternatives to a joint Air Force-Boeing deal that critics claimed was overpriced and unnecessary in the near term.

1. He did this because it is a tax payer rip off

& John McCain has been on a rampage. Has held hearings, press conferences, etc etc.

McCain also blocked the budget bill in the Senate last week.

After Hastert insulted McCain, maybe the word went out: Hey, he might want to be Kerry s Veep!!!!
