5. This may be tasteless (oops bad choice of words)
But the problem was that too many were going down on the subject.

Group sex in front of Iraqi prisoners? Group gropes of Iraqi Prisoners?
Makes you think that those under her were outacontrol.

7. The tentacles are starting to move up…..
While I do think Sanchez will or should get hit at some point, I think Boykin and Miller may be next….then there’s a part of me that says it could stop at Boykin. This fruitcake has enough nuts rattling inside him that, for God and Country, he could be persuaded to consume all the swords…..his rap sheet is damning enough for the media to buy it….

14. Gotta figure neocons would use the highest ranking woman there as scape
goat then toss the highest ranking Hispanic to the mobs wanting to get to the top of the mess. Women and people of color first to the angry mobs as far as the neocons are concerned? Then they can say, "See, women and minorities are not good to have in positions of authority. Best we just keep power in white male hands and then everything will be fine." They get to save their own sorry asses and try to lend credibility to the bigotry they employ to hang on to all the marbles too.

Pluck the Chicken Hawks.

There is Barbara Fast. She is in the mix somewhere above Karpinski. I read here somewhere recently in charge in Iraq ahd she was either reassigned or promoted to the some MP training camp here in the states. If I recall, it starts with an H and its somewhere in the southwest. I'll see if I can do a search and find a link.

Heres a quick link
http://www.sptimes.com/2004/05/17/Worldandnation/Religious_remarks_hou.shtml

snip:
But the hearing revealed that Maj. Gen. Barbara Fast, the top intelligence officer in Iraq, had oversight of civilian contractors hired by U.S. Central Command in Tampa to interrogate prisoners at Abu Ghraib.

http://www.sptimes.com/2004/05/08/Worldandnation/Report_steers_clear_o.shtml

snip: According to Karpinski, who was formally in charge of Iraq's prison system, those detainees made up 60 percent of the prison population and were the fastest-growing segment. However, Karpinski told investigators, Fast "routinely" denied recommendations to release inmates who were no longer deemed a threat and clearly met the requirements for release.

Karpinski further complained that "the extremely slow and ineffective release process has significantly contributed to the overcrowding of the facilities," Taguba's report said

The training schools name is Fort Huachuca

Snip: Maj. Gen. Barbara G. Fast, who is now the fort's deputy commander and is serving overseas in Baghdad, will take over as head of the Sierra Vista Army post and its military intelligence school in late summer or early fall.

13. Yes, I've been thinking a lot about "Scapegoats of the Empire" lately
Maybe I should rent Breaker Morant again; it's been quite a vew years.

Also about time to watch Paths of Glory again. Saw Apocalypse Now Redux a few times last summer, which is also newly relevant.

15. NBC: Abu Ghraib commander suspended; link
~snip~
Seven soldiers have also been court-martialed in the continuing investigation at Abu Ghraib, where hundreds of photographs and video clips depicted U.S. guards abusing and sexually humiliating Iraqi prisoners who were naked except for hoods covering their heads, including a group stacked in a human pyramid.

Military sources told NBC News on Monday that the commander at Abu Ghraib and about two dozen other detention facilities in Iraq, Brig. Gen. Janis Karpinski, could face administrative action or criminal charges and had been suspended from her command pending the outcome of the investigation.

Karpinski returned to Fort Bragg, N.C., in January but was not formally relieved of her command then. Military officials said the move disclosed Monday, which was one step short of fully relieving her of command, preserved the Army’s legal options and would make it easier to pursue possible administrative action or criminal charges.

The investigations have also spread to Afghanistan, where an Army general has begun a review of U.S. detention facilities where at least three prisoners died and former detainees say they were abused.

16. Apparently the military has made their decision as to who is going to take
the fall.....and the winner is: General Karpinski (Surprise!). Hopefully she can get Brendan "Potted Plant" Sullivan as her lawyer.

17. Scapegoat!
Where are the contractors, the military intelligence, the higher-ups who approved this disgrace? Why isn't Alberto Gonzalez fired, Rummy, et al?

Because they all approved it.
