Advocacy group issues security advisory to area Arab Americans, Muslims

An Arab-American advocacy group has issued an advisory cautioning area Muslims and Arabs to be vigilant of possible repercussions from the escalating violence in Iraq and the recent beheading of an American civilian there.

The warning issued Thursday by the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee came after several mosques and organizations received what they said was an unusually high number of threatening messages within the past few days.

Community leaders say they believe the threats were issued in response to the beheading of 26-year-old Nicholas Berg, a telecommunications businessman from West Chester, Pa. His body was found May 8 in western Baghdad, and his decapitation later was shown on an al-Qaida-linked Web site.

"We sent the advisory mainly because we, as well as our national office, received messages saying that "This time, it's going to be different for you' and that "Your community will pay for it (Berg's death),"' said Imad Hamad, director of the Michigan chapter of the ADC.

If you call or write, be super polite, use no profanity. Present your point so that maybe one or two might start to think.

They 'know' all who do not agree with them are anti-Christian, anti-American.

Listening to him is like listening to a religious broadcast. He constantly repeats that the 'US is a Christian nation, is founded on Christian principles, and that 'we' (=Christians) must take 'our' country back.'

He makes it very clear that it is the democratic party, the democratic members of the state legislature and congress who have destroyed the founders' America. And of course, the 'liberal media.' Local examples of the 'liberal media' are the Tulsa World and the other RW radio station KRMG 740am.!?!?!?!?!? Tulsa is a demented world.

His show is M-F 5:30am to 9am.

There's some info about him on some of the discussions in the 'Oklahoma' section.

He claims Muslims want to turn US into a Muslim nation. Because a MI suburb okayed the broadcasting of the Islamic call to prayer, he says MI is lost to Islam; unless we (OK) are super-vigilant, we may be next to go.

The station motto is 'Other stations present Right vs Left; we present Right vs Wrong.'
