British bookmakers see increase in bets that Blair will leave
British bookmakers are reporting a surge in bets that Tony Blair (news - web sites) will leave his post as prime minister before the next general election, with his popularity sliding in recent months amid waning support for Britain's role in Iraq (news - web sites).

The popular London bookmaker William Hill was recently quoting odds of 14/1 that Blair would quit government in the coming 12 months, but on Thursday the odds had dropped to 8/1.

"There has been a steady trickle of money on Blair stepping down over the past couple of weeks, as his ratings in the opinion polls have slumped," said Graham Sharpe, a spokesman for William Hill.

Gordon Brown, Britain's finance minister and Blair's key rival in the Labour party, is the uncontested favorite to succeed the prime minister at odds of 4/5 on.

The latest scandal over photographs showing US soldiers abusing and torturing Iraqi prisoners has dealt a blow to Blair and his support for US-led occupation of Iraq.

prediction I made 1 year ago that aWol wouldn't even be the Repuke nominee is very very near. I predicted aWol would have a psychotic breakdown. Something I didn't predict was a majority in the House and Senate.

I bet the secret Bush Crime Family slush fund is transferring all kinds of money to Blair because they know if Blair goes in the next months aWol doesn't stand a chance.

3.  Is Blair's head on the chopping block? - IOL
 By Katherine Baldwin

London - Britain's Tony Blair dismissed talk of his resignation as "froth" on Friday but some in his party say the revelations of prisoner abuse in Iraq could be the final straw for the damaged prime minister.

Increasing numbers of Labour Party parliamentarians are calling for Blair to stand down, worried that the charismatic leader who was once their best electoral asset has become a liability.

"The unfolding picture in Iraq means that if you have taken such a high position in going to war against such enormous opposition and it appears that it's the disaster it is, if I was him I would consider my position," anti-war Labour member of parliament (MP) Bob Marshall-Andrews said.

About 4 days ago I posted a story that suggested Blair was going to quit. I did take some a little out of contact and posted it in the title. The Mod locked it for that. I'm not complaining I'm just saying that 'The Force' is with me. I can make these things happen. I've got a funny sixth sense. So just let me stretch these things into reality!

The other one I've been working on is Bush will NOT even be the Repuke nominee!!!!

I also know a DUer who got kicked off 2.5 years ago making posts about fraternity acts of anal sex and mutual masturbation. Which now all seem correct given the events in Iraq and the way Limbaugh has admitted these are fraternity acts.

4. I wonder what the book is on Smirky losing in November?
And do the British bookies give electoral college "points" to the underdog to make the betting more interesting?
Right now I would guess to bet on Kerry one would have to give Shrubbie at least 100 electoral votes.
