"The destruction is huge and it was beyond our imagination," said Abu Mohammed, 50, as he stood near his destroyed house in the al-Jolan district in the northwest of the city.

"Who is going to compensate us after what happened?" said Daher Abu Maan, a 40-year old worker, who returned with his family to find that his house was also completely destroyed.

"We cannot start to rebuild again. We suffered over 12 years of UN sanctions during Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s regime. We hoped that peace will prevail, instead we lost our houses and our hope again," he added.

Other residents, who returned to the city after fleeing from the bloody battles were too dazed to comment.

3. According to the BBC we American Taypapers are Reimbersing Fallujans
if their house was damaged by bombs. Also we will repair the Mosque's and Minarets. It was a reporter on the BBC who works for London Telegraph. Our taxpayer dollars at work, rebuilding what we paid to destroy. :grr: Report said every Fallujan is being told this as they go through the checkpoints to get back into town.

10. I doubt they will be paid adequately, personally
It seems likely they will have some marine go up and peel a few fifties off a roll, according to what I have read. Also, I don't trust much I hear from the Telegraph - among other things, they were the ones trying to set up Galloway, and can always be counted on to fly a "WMD found" trial balloon.

P.S. I have nothing against BBC stories, in general.

I am disgusted and outraged - we must get these criminals out of the WH. So sad!

5. My God`
To the Iraqi People:
My heart aches at what you must be going thru. Not only did Americans kill hundreds of your innocent neighbors, but we crushed the little hope you held on too.

Apologies are not enough, but that is all I have to offer. I apologize first for allowing my country to do this to your's in the last year. I tried to stop them, but I failed. I could have, and should have done more.

My country will learn a great lesson from all this and that lesson shall be that we never allow such atrocities to be visited on an innocent people again. Hopefully. you shall be the last to have the US abuse you in such a manner. I promise you I shall work to make it so, and will make efforts to see that you are somehow helped along to recovering your hopes.

Too little, too late,I know, but I wish you Peace.

They don't want us to know the truth, only the spin. This makes me sicker and sicker each day. The Iraqi people must feel simply hopeless! So sad!

8. I hope you're wrong
Alas, I fear they might not.

Falluja, as has been stated, will be known in history as the place the American empire was halted. We must work to see it so.

Welcome to DU, Frustrated, may you see some of your frustration relieved because of DU, lord knows DU has helped mine deflate and refill with hope!

6. I don't suppose they warned the residents about all the Depleted Uranium
.
.
.

in the air and in the rubble that will continue to kill them for the next few decades?

Actually, I don't even think the soldiers know of the dangers.

It's called "Gulf War Syndrome" instead of "Radiation Sickness"

Sounds much better that way.

From the article:

"We are ready to fight the Americans until the last drop of our blood if they think of attacking us again.""

All this death and destruction was supposedly to catch and bring to justice 4 people.

AND THEY NEVER FOUND ONE OF THEM!!

Disgusting

Just fecking disgusting.

USA #1 ?

NOT!
