BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) Two U.S. sailors were killed in Iraq's central Anbar province, a hotbed of resistance that includes the city of Fallujah, the U.S. military said Saturday.

The two sailors, who were assigned to the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, were killed Friday ''while conducting operations against anti-coalition forces,'' the military said in a press release. It gave no further details.

Two Marines were also killed Friday in a car bombing near the main Marine base outside of Fallujah.

The deaths raised the U.S. death toll to 138 for April, adding to what already was the deadliest month for U.S. forces since the war began March 2003.
