U.S. drops fight to get abortion records

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Justice Department has abandoned its controversial effort to obtain abortion records, a move government lawyers said was designed to speed a court decision on the constitutionality of a law banning certain late-term abortions.

Like maybe "speeding" the case along to secure a favorable judge, ruling or docket schedule.

6. Wonderful news... now, on to VICTORY.

We must establish the unconstitutional nature of these laws. Roe must be extended to abortion generally, in order to put an end to these efforts and take it off the table as much as possible. Then, when we control the federal government, we can pass a law making Roe statutory as well. Once people realize this is a real danger, the winds will sweep our way, be sure of it. Same thing happened after Casey court ruling under Bush Sr.--pro-choice was galvanized nationally and the antis were on the defensive.
