Dawn (Pakistan): US wants Osama captured by July
Is that Oct surprise or July surprise??

excerpt:
According to these reports, President Bush would prefer that the Pakistanis capture Al Qaeda leaders and hand them over to the US authorities.

Such a development would not only justify the US anti-terrorism policies but will also strengthen President Pervez Musharraf, a key US ally, both at home and abroad, the reports said.

But if the Pakistanis fail to do so, the US administration will then urge Pakistan to allow US forces to expand their already existing operations in Pakistan to capture Osama, the reports said.

5. Without capturing Osama Bush looks like a fool
Would be pretty tough for him to argue he is the right guy for the job of the war against terrorism without having Osama in captivity

6. BWAHAHAHAHA! Oh, my God, that's so damned funny!
Such a development would not only justify the US anti-terrorism policies but will also strengthen President Pervez Musharraf, a key US ally, both at home and abroad, the reports said.

Yeah, right! Musharraf will be lucky not to get whacked inside of a year if he hand-delivers ObL to the b*sh administration. Both he and al Qaeda have a strong, strong following in Pakistan - and it's only getting stronger, thanks to the policies of the traitors in the White House!

7. YUp, Musharraf looks how Bush treats us Americans and he wonders
how he can trust Bush. In some parts of the world, people know when BS is being passed around.

9. Exactly what I was thinking about Musharraf
If he was to turn OBL over to the US, he'd end up with a civil war on his hands. He probably wants the guy to be found dead as much as anyone else.

I think it would be absolutely hilarious if OBL somehow ended up in the hands of the french or the russians. Neither country would let him get away, but they'd get pissy with Bush over turning him over to the US and it would be highly amusing to watch the administration deal with it.

10. Well, Musharraf has had two near-miss assassination attempts this year
Guess the assassins were angry about Musharraf's failure to capture bin Laden and help out Bush and the US.

HA-HA HA-HA!

12. You're not serious, right?
He's almost been killed twice precisely because he's working with the much-hated U.S.

13. where are we going to get the extra troops??
"The reports pointed out that the US forces already have several landing bases in the area and also have rehearsed plans for airdropping 25,000 to 35,000 troops to deal with any major development."

14. Bad analysis...
...As long as Osama is in Pakistan, Musharraf can extract a few more billions from Bush...by dangling the Osama carrot.

As soon as Osama is captured, Musharraf becomes partially useless for USA. He also incurs the wrath of fundamentalists at home.

Musharraf and Bush have divergent interests now. Its only a matter of time before one blinks...
