Mom to give birth to twins — her daughter's

KNOXVILLE — Mothers. They kiss away boo-boos, soothe broken hearts, and serve as our loudest cheerleaders and most compassionate critics. Many will confess their willingness to lay down their lives for their children.

Barbara Brennan's gift to her daughter is a gift of life. She is pregnant with her twin grandchildren.

The 53-year-old Hendersonville mother is carrying twins for her 34-year-old daughter and son-in-law, Lynne and Phil Bevins of Knoxville. Today she is scheduled to deliver Pryce Daly and Meredith Taylor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

"I get double takes. People look at my face and then my belly and then my face again," said Brennan, a hospital administrator. "A few women my age said they wouldn't do it. Others ask me about my progress and say they're living through me."
