Families of hostages say they're being kept in dark(by KBR)
http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/printstory.mpl/front/2530694

The president of KBR-Halliburton said today the company has not withheld information about contracted employees working in Iraq.

But family members of KBR employees taken hostage by insurgents in Iraq say they are still being kept in the dark about their status.

Randy Harl, head of the Halliburton subsidiary formerly known as Kellogg Brown & Root, said he does not know whether hostage takers have set demands for the release of the KBR hostages.

"You hear the same thing we do. The military is handling that," he said. "For security reasons, they aren't saying much. We haven't heard anything in regard to those negotiations."

2. Has KBR explained to those families
that our refusal to do prisoner swaps means there is no reason to keep them alive?

3. Worse. Release will be determined by BushCo need in the polls.
BushCo would never let principle get in the way of making a buck or getting a fix in the polls.

5. So far, we know that private contractors and military are treated alike
They're killed, one way or another. No negotiation, no life.

Marines on Okinawa, having captured prisoners, would routinely take them around the next coral reef and shoot them. Iraq's treatment of POWs will be no different. If they don't serve a useful purpose, they're a hindrance to have around.
