My best friend from elementary school lost her way in life, and when she was in high school, she got pregnant while on heroin. Her mother stepped in, helped her get clean, and sat with her while she had a clean, safe, legal abortion at Abington. She went on to stay clean, get married and have 3 more kids. Because she had a clean, safe, legal option, she didn't end up in a back alley somewhere, dead or sterile.

No one is insisting that Holy Redeemer START doing abortions. Good on these doctors for standing up to Catholic bullying.

Also - a big WTF on "end-of-life" policies. My elderly mom died there when my dad removed her from her ventilator after she was deemed brain dead after a massive stroke. They handled everything beautifully, and let my dad and I make the decision. How exactly do the Catholics want to change this0 humane policy?
