Wall Street Protest Marches to Police Headquarters
Source: NBC News

Wall Street protesters marched to police headquarters Friday, a silence walk that ended with chants of "End the War! Tax the Rich!" and calls to indict a police officer who tussled with demonstrators last weekend.

The march kicked off at about 5:30 p.m., proceeding from the downtown park where protesters have been gathered for days, to police headquarters about a half-mile away.

There were no immediate reports of arrests.

While the main focus of "Occupy Wall Street" is centered on the financial world, those camping out in the park have championed causes covering the political and social spectrum, from supporters of Ron Paul to the anti-war activists of the Granny Peace Brigade.

6. The NYC Fox affiliate streamed live an overhead view from a helicopter
of the big march spilling into the police plaza until they almost ran out of gas. But it was amazing while it lasted.

Not defending mainstream media, of course, but the locals and now, more and more of the nationals, are finally starting to pay attention. They don't really have a choice at this point.

9. It was a live, raw stream from a helicopter that I saw a link to on OccupyWallSt Twitter

The only sound was the heli pilots mumbling about how little gas they had left. No commentary.

I have no idea what the answers are to your questions.

Susan Sarandon stopped by to lend some star power to the protests earlier, as did “The Colbert Report.” Rock group Radiohead was rumored to be giving a 4:00 p.m. concert Friday, but that was eventually confirmed via their Twitter account to have not been on the agenda. The band wished protesters the best, however.

Still, demonstrators said they weren’t disappointed, as they said they’re here to deliver a message.

“America has to go back to the American people, and the American people are not represented by their government, and they’re certainly not represented by big corporations,” said one protester.

“We’re here to show support for the people that are occupying Wall Street, because we know as working people that this is all our struggle. It’s everyone’s struggle,” said one TWU worker.
