Huckabee looks again at Republican presidential bid
Source: Reuters

Mike Huckabee has been approached by Republican and conservative activists unhappy with the current crop of presidential hopefuls and he is considering entering the fray, two sources who have spoken with Huckabee told Reuters.

The former Arkansas governor, who made a splash by winning the Iowa caucuses as a candidate in 2008, announced last May on his Fox News show that he would not enter the race.

But the conservative Huckabee, who appeals to evangelical Christians and is seen as an effective campaigner, is taking another look at jumping in, said the two sources, who are close to Huckabee. They spoke to Reuters on the condition of anonymity.

"He is entertaining the request for conversations about it," one of the sources said. "I do not think it is a complete 100 percent 'I'm reconsidering' but he hasn't shut the door on it."

Sorry Mike, the GOP field is REALLY booked up this week. Why don't you wait a month or so and see if we get some cancellations.

(hmm, I wonder if anyone ELSE on the Republican side is getting miffed because nobody's banging on HER door...)

14. You're right. I don't think a guy who pardons cop killers has much of a chance.

15. Clemmons killed the cops after getting a commuted sentence for robberies,
and DuMond had several rape convictions before being paroled from a commuted sentence and then raped and murdered another woman in Missouri. "Pardons cop killers" is an oversimplification.

7. Send In The Clowns
Come on Huckaboo!! You all have made my day. We know that your huge christian ego will not allow you to stand on the sidelines while those who are your equal shine in the arena and fall flat on their wacko faces. Watch out for Pawlenty! He's madly stroking his huge ego and coming in again on your flank.

9. Second tier Repubicans' plan B ...
Let the current crop fight it out and let dissatisfaction grow among the Repubican base. Come convention time, Hukabee, Trump, Sarah the Impaler, Christie, Christine, Ghouliani and a bunch of others can through their hat in the ring, saying that they're doing it "for the good of the Party (or Country)."

This way saves time, effort and cash. Hopefully, they'll all jump in at the same time.

10. Actually...
This might make sense...

By continually injecting a new candidate to shuffle around the various flavors of pseudo-populist republicreatures they maintain interest and keep anyone from coming out looking electable other than Romney. Romney is the choice of the GOP establishment. The rest is just smoke and mirrors to distract the teahaddists and what not. It also keeps people interested in the Republican nomination process.

I wouldn't be surprised if Roves mega organization isn't funneling money to prop up a series of candidates to undermine any candidate that is too wildly fundamentalist or too libertarian from garnering attention.
