GOP's Bachmann puts negative spin on Arab Spring
Source: San Francisco Chronicle/AP

Republican Michele Bachmann is blaming President Barack Obama's stand on Israeli-Palestinian peace talks for the uprisings against autocratic governments across the Arab world.

At a fundraiser Thursday in North Carolina, Bachmann traces the mass protests that sometimes turned deadly to Obama's call for Israel to return to negotiations and pull back to the territory it held prior to the 1967 war with Egypt.

In video posted by MSNBC, Bachmann says the president "has laid the table for the Arab Spring by demonstrating weakness from the United States of America."

The Arab spring protests stretched from Algeria in North Africa to Syria in the Middle East. Some led to political instability in nations with longstanding rulers.

2. MSNBC: Bachmann condemns Arab Spring, blames it on Obama
Michele Bachmann condemned the Arab Spring and blamed President Obama for allowing it to happen by "showing weakness" and by compromising the United States' relationship with Israel.

Why do you think there was an Arab Spring, she asked at a GOP fund-raiser at a local barbecue restaurant here. She went on to tie the uprisings to what she described as signals from the White House that America was abandoning Israel.

And in a new historical analogy, Bachmann drew a comparison between the fall of the Shah of Iran -- who Bachmann says Jimmy Carter "turned his back" on -- and President Obama's present-day relationship with Israel.

Bachmann also linked the rise of "Radical Jihad" to the fall of the Shah and the 1979 Iranian revolution.

3. Wait: Democratic self-governance is bad?
Or only when it occurs while a Democrat sits in the White House?

8. a typical fascist supporting fellow fascists....
"Republican Michele Bachmann is blaming President Barack Obama's stand on Israeli-Palestinian peace talks for the uprisings against autocratic governments across the Arab world."

....Obama should wear the Arab Spring and bachmanns' criticism as a badge of honor....

....Mubarak, Gaddafi, Numeiri, Assad, even King (let the hags drive) Abdullah may wish bachmann had come to their defense earlier....bachmann could have help save thousands of lives, billions of dollars and proudly set democracy back in the Middle East at least one hundred years....

....and you want to be President Michelle? Fat chance my belle, those words don't go together well...

10. GW Bush claimed the war in Iraq
would inspire other populations in the Mid-East to rebel and create democracies. What does Michelle have to say about that?

This is the same person who thinks Hizb'allah is sending missiles to Cuba! I swear if she said it was raining outside, I would have to walk outside to confirm before I believed it true. The phrase "take it with a grain of salt!" is ideal for her. Perhaps it should be her campaign slogan.
