Gaddafi may be hiding on border with Algeria, say rebels
Source: The Guardian

Muammar Gaddafi could be hiding near a picturesque town on Libya's borders with Algeria and Tunisia, sheltered by Tuareg tribesmen who are in his pay, according to officials of the country's western-backed rebel leadership.

They said the man most Libyans now call "the tyrant" or "the fugitive" may have been near Ghadamis, a Unesco world heritage site famous for its oasis, walled old town and largely Berber population.

Evidence of his presence apparently emerged after an attack at the Algerian border last weekend killed at least nine rebels, though there is suspicion this may have been a diversion to let Gaddafi flee.

Gaddafi was last seen in Tripoli a few days after the Nato-backed uprising on 20 August. Witnesses spotted him at an army base with his daughter Aisha, who arrived in Algeria the following day with her brothers Hannibal and Mohammed, their mother, Safia, and other relatives. Saadi, another son, fled to Niger with other senior regime figures.

4. Most Libyans?

Did the thugs in the employ of MI6 and the CIA take a poll?

"They said the man most Libyans now call "the tyrant" or "the fugitive" may have been near Ghadamis, a Unesco world heritage site famous for its oasis, walled old town and largely Berber population."

Or is it their presence on every street corner with heavy machine guns that generates this "consensus?" Intel pukes are so happy the bay of pigs strategy finally worked.

Thank goodness for another failed state. The march of corporate globalism continues.

5. Yup, most Libyans.
I've watched the topic closely and it looks as though the anti-Gaddafi support is in the range of 85-95% nationwide. It may be even more extreme than that. There are several ways to arrive at an estimate and they all converge in that range.

Given that the widely accepted estimate of 10% to 20% of Libyans worked for the Gaddafi security apparatus, that's probably another reason that the estimate isn't far off the mark.

Now I don't know how many MI6/CIA agents you have in your head, but you're going to need more that a few boatloads full of perfectly trained agents, expertly schooled in the appropriate Libyan dialects, sub-cultures, and family ties. And don't forget the dozens upon dozens of small towns and neighborhoods where there were spontaneous uprisings and everyone knows everyone else.

I don't know how far you'll eventually want to take the MI6/CIA/Qatar conspiracy theory, but it might be simpler just to admit that his "beebull" didn't love him so much, and that the failed state was the Gaddafi failed state. Good luck.

6. The Berber's hate Gaddafi. He tried to wipe out their culture.
May they bring him to justice.
