Stenberg (US Senate candidate R-Ne) picks up tea party help

Nebraska Republican Don Stenberg cut two notches in his tea party belt Tuesday with two key national endorsements.

FreedomWorks, a group that has the support of conservative radio host Glenn Beck, and U.S. Sen. Mike Lee of Utah, a tea party favorite, both backed Stenberg today.

The endorsements could give Stenberg's campaign a much-needed financial boost, by raising his national profile and his national fundraising abilities.

Stenberg is one of five Republicans in Nebraska vying for the GOP nomination and the chance to run against Democratic U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson.
