U.S. Citizen Linked To Terror Plot on 9/11 Anniversary

U.S. authorities are scrambling to sort through information that the CIA developed in the past 24 hours indicating that at least three individuals entered the U.S. in August by air with the intent to launch a vehicle-borne attack against Washington, D.C. or New York around the anniversary of 9/11, according to intelligence officials.

One of the intelligence and law enforcement officials that ABC News spoke to said that one of the individuals may be a U.S. citizen and a second official said that possibly two of the individuals may have had U.S. documentation -- whether green cards or passports was unclear.

As news of the information became public, authorities began weighing whether to raise the national threat level.

The suspected terrorists are believed to have embarked on their journey to the U.S. from Afghanistan or Pakistan, according to two senior officials. One official said the route may have taken them through at least one other country, possibly Iran. Another news organization reported that they embarked from "the Pakistan area."

I don't let it paralyze my life, I go to the city, but this weekend I canceled. Why? Because IF something should happen I don't want to be stuck there.
I know NYC Police officers and an FBI agent and they say the threat is real. Why go if I can put it off another weekend?

17. I don't live in NYC, but I have lived and seen many other

horrors far worse. Then I have seen people use the resultant fear to control the populace, which is what has happened for the last ten years.

My mother was killed by a drunk cop, and I have family members who have lived with terrorism in Ireland for 70 years.

The three thousand deaths on 9/11 have spawned hundreds of thousands more, a police state, the destruction of two countries and massive profits for Eisenhower's "military-industrial complex".

Pardon me if I am cynical about these things. This smells of the Bush-era tactics of scaring people to distract from misconduct/incompetence.

I am sure this "alert" will result in the arrest of many brown people, and perhaps a white person or two. Some may even be guilty.

If someone manages to pull off another attack with a plane, it would prove that all this security theatre of the last ten years was a complete sham and a waste of money. However, the "lesson" that will taken will be the need for MORE security, MORE surveillance, and MORE sham programs wasting MORE money.

23. We lost two of our neighbors on 9/11.

Both were fathers of small children. But I am not so afraid of a terror attack that I am willing to give up a single right. The most despicable thing about all this to me for the past ten years, is how the deaths on 9/11 have been exploited in the most evil way possible.

Now, few people trust the government anymore. Most of my family and friends in NY are thoroughly disgusted by how that tragedy has been used.

I'm not discounting your fears, or anyone else's, but the trust in those in charge is gone. Now, when they talk about potential terror threats, my first thought is 'what are they going to use THIS for'. The last one, the underwear bomber, was used to install Rapiscans in our airports and the vile 'Enhanced Patdowns', taking away even more of our rights.

When Clinton was president several plots, some which would have been worse than 9/11, were stopped. We were used to hearing about them but there was no attempt to exploit them to take away any of our freedoms. Now, we are always suspicious that whether they threats are real or not, they WILL be used against us in some way.

9. What a wonderful opportunity it is for ABC News to garner public fixiation on their media.

For sure, every body is going to be tuned in, wanting to know the story. That will mean the ABC ratings will go up correspondingly, and so will the dollar cost of advertising on their media. It is a wonderful opportunity for CBS to make a lot of money. But then, the story could also be the truth.

What a travesty it is that our society has become so corrupt and decayed that lying has become an acceptable practice. Excuse me, we don't even have the sense of honor to call it lying anymore. The new word is "putting a spin on the truth", and thanks to advertising, it has now become a completely acceptable practice.

How many lies do you people think were told last night at the debate of republinazi candidates for president? And how many of those lies do you think will ever be called out in a majority of the MSM, so that the candidates who told them can be brought to shame?
