Phone hacking: Guardian journalist interviewed over police inquiry leaks

The paper’s special investigations correspondent was questioned but not arrested by officers from Scotland Yard’s Operation Weeting taskforce.

The interview occurred last week, details only emerged on Wednesday. It is thought it was linked to the arrest earlier this month of a 51-year-old detective on suspicion of leaking information to the newspaper.

Hill has written several exclusive stories for the Guardian about the investigation into the phone hacking scandal at the News of the World.

It has been claimed she published information based on leaks from an officer assigned to the inquiry into the now defunct Sunday tabloid.
