FEMA funding has Congress stuck in dispute
Source: The Washington Post

The damage from Hurricane Irene is still being tallied and wildfires are spreading across Texas. But Congress signaled Tuesday that it still cannot agree on how to get more money into the nearly depleted coffers of the beleaguered Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Lawmakers are stuck in a dispute over how much additional funding FEMA should receive and whether that additional funding should be offset with cuts elsewhere.

Democratic senators on Tuesday proposed spending $6 billion to replenish the Disaster Relief Fund, the leading program used to reimburse local governments and individuals for disaster-related cleanup and repairs.

That’s $2.35 billion more than the GOP-held House included in a competing appropriations measure that passed in June.

1. I do not see what the problem is
It seems that the majority of republicans feel that god and Mother Nature are attacking this country.
And the leaders of the republican party feel that the funds should come from cutting another program.
If this country is attacked that comes under the Department of Defense.
So the logical conclusion is that the funds should come from the DoD because they failed to defend this country.

See how simple that is if you let your mind work like a republican...............

5. Haven't read them yet - They're on my list of books to read
Even though I was raised RC and my father is a RC deacon, I have closer ties to our ancestors' Heathen path. Oddly enough, my dad is fine with it.
My personal links are to Tyr (his sense of justice and duty) and to Freya (who doesn't want to be close to Freya  )

The wolf-daemon is simply that I have always been close to wolves and the other canines.
Back when I was more active, it was not uncommon for me to go camping and fishing. I would stay up and sit by the fire on many nights when coyotes would come check me out. I could talk to them and it always felt like they were responding. (it would freak out my friends when they would hear the barks and howls so close to the camp. :) )

I was lucky enough to go to Alaska with my family and on that trip I had several close encounters with wild wolves, although I didn't have a chance to spend the night chatting with them.
There was also a pair of Mexican Wolves on some land near Laredo that used to be in the family. It was really cool to watch them do their thing.
My dad and I had planned on building them a den or two at the water tanks, but the family sold the land during a fight about my Great Aunt's will before we could do any of the things we wanted out there.

These days I would rather be a wolf than human. Humans are F*ing up our dens and rewarding those that do the most fouling. There is no honor in that.
