Libya rendition claims: David Cameron calls for inquiry
Source: BBC News

Allegations that MI6 was involved in the rendition of Libyan terror suspects should be examined by an independent inquiry, David Cameron has said.

It comes after papers suggesting close ties between MI6, the CIA and the Gaddafi regime were found in Tripoli.

An anti-Gaddafi military leader says he wants the UK and US to apologise for organising his 2004 transfer to Libya.

The Detainee Inquiry into allegations of UK security agencies' involvement in torture has said it will investigate.

The plot, like the gravy, thickens. Me thinks Cameron is looking to hang Blair out to dry.

1. And cover his own ass too
Besides, this investigation will push the Murdoch thing even further back...and Cameron will be doing the CYA tactic!

3. No cause for it to have any bearing on the Murdoch enquiry
our Parliamentary Enquiries don't work like that.

Aside from that, given that Cameron didn't even win the Conservative leadership election until 2005 while they were in opposition this was hardly on his watch. That's not a defense of Cameron in general - just a fact of life.

2. I hope someone involved in this mess gets hung out to dry. Looks like only Europe can do it.
The US got Spain to stop that Spanish judge when he tried for justice against Bushco.

Will we try to stop Cameron from moving against Blair? Would that prosecution be too close to home, as it were?
