BIDEN: We Need More Stimulus Now, And S&P Management Change Was Because Of Their Stupid Downgrade
Edited on Fri Aug-26-11 12:00 PM by CountAllVotes
Source: Reuters

Traveling back from a ten-day trip to Asia, Vice President Joe Biden told reporters on Air Force Two that more economic stimulus would be needed to help the economy recover, Reuters reports.

President Barack Obama is set to reveal his jobs and debt plan after Labor Day — and Biden's remarks are the first on-the-record by an administration official to indicate that Obama will push for a broad-based plan to tackle the lingering economic crisis and the growing federal debt.

Also asked about the recently announced leadership change at Standard & Poor's, Biden said his "instinct" was that the change was in response to criticism from disgruntled businesses, though according to Reuters, "he made clear that he did not know the agency's internal workings."

4. I agree!
Enough is enough. Of course the pigs on Wall Street will never have enough. Lower the rates even more they say. That will definitely drive the county into a DEPRESSION as there will soon be no more dividends left to spend for those that don't play the game. Five year CDs are all coming due now and those were paying half way decent and now you get 2%. Big effing deal.

The stimulus needed is to raise the damn rates, not hand out more $$$$$$$ to the banks and TAX the RICH!

:kick:

10. "...now you get 2%. Big effing deal."
....we'd be better off having the government force the banksters into offering 8%-10% long-term CDs....

....why should we be made to gamble at a casino for our retirement money, when we could have it secure and guaranteed instead?

5. They could just pronounce themselves dictators and implement that and act like
Congress doesn't exist.

Sounds just as realistic.

8. You know very well that the republicans wont pass a tax hike even though most of us here
know said tax hike is needed because they (the republicans) need the country to remain in the toilet so they can oust obama, I mean hell they admitted that their one and only goal was to oust him from the start regardless of how much damage their actions may have on the country.

13. Obama had a Democratic Congress less than a year ago.
Then, the excuse was the Blue Dogs.

In reality, Democrats will never have sixty Senate votes, exclusive of conservadems. In fact, I don't see Democrats having sixty Senate votes again for a very long time.

16. Not a tax hike... just levy the correct amount of tax on everyone. It is compulsory, not a choice.
That is the law. Please... we accountants are taught this in
our very expensive text books. The tax code is that everyone
pays income taxes levied by law to everyone without favor. PR
taxes for the employed and income taxes on businesses and
individuals who make a profit. The rich have stopped paying
completely and we have been borrowing money from the Fed to
make up for that loss. The deficit is mostly loans our
leaders have made to keep us barely afloat while the cat runs
away with the spoon. Hello? Any body out there?

2. In the Senate, Biden sponsored Bankruptcy Deform on behalf of his campaign finance donors.
So I'm really uninterested in anything that man has to say, sorry.

11. Biden is highly suspect ... gave us Clarence Thomas + calling for Israel to attack Iran -- !!!
Edited on Fri Aug-26-11 10:33 PM by defendandprotect
Biden's been doing that for more than a year now, saying --

"Israel would be justified in attack Iran" -- !!

And bankruptcy DEFORM also allowed more banksters to rip off consumers -- !!

We need two strong anti-war candidates for 2012 --

Two candidates who strongly support universal health care -- !!

If we could move on those two issues alone, we could begin to make a comeback financially!!

And, the environment -- ready to react to Global Warming -- !!

17. the debt problem is self generated by congress not levying income taxes on everyone that made a
profit... and used debt financing to make up the losses from
not taxing the rich. We are swindled and charged for it.

18. We are Revenue starved.. Those tax cuts to the rich are our biggest source of revenue.
Expenses are paid based on tax revenue levied and collected.
No revenue... no expenses paid. Dumb fucks, I swear.

7. I understand that politics work about as quickly as a someone getting paid by the century...
But, isn't it sad when political shows understand what needs to be done before the politicians implement the plans?

14. Political shows are not independent of government by any means.
They are intertwined because the shows need access to info only government can provide.

We saw this with the run up to the war in Iraq. TV and newspapers help Bushco sell the idea to the American public before Bush went ahead with it.

I have no reason to assume this kind of "cooperation" ended when Bushco left.
