Sign Now Marks Garage of Watergate's 'Deep Throat'
Source: Associated Press

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — A nondescript parking garage where Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward met his Watergate source known as "Deep Throat" now has a historical marker.

WTOP Radio (http://bit.ly/oNlPjF ) reports the historic preservation agency in Arlington, Va., quietly installed the marker this month. It was approved in 2008. Now it stands near the garage entrance.

This is the place where Mark Felt, the FBI's second in command, met Woodward to discuss Watergate. Felt provided information that exposed the Nixon administration's obstruction of the FBI's investigation. The marker says they met at the garage six times in 1972 and 1973. Nixon resigned in 1974.

3. Deep Throat was (primarily) Ben Bradlee and his old war buddies at ONI.

Cub reporter, Bob Woodward, who had practically no experience as a journalist before he was hired at The Washington Post (any idea how hard it is to get a job as a reporter there?) was also ONI formerly working out of the White House basement.

Carl Bernstein was assigned because he could write compelling copy, a necessary skill Woodward lacked during his entire career.

4. Deep Throat was/is George H. W. Bush which was the reason
Bush came forward a few years back after Woodward announced he would expose deep throat after he died. Bush then promotes a deep throat he can rely on who since has died. Bush deep throated simply because Nixon promised him a shot as VP but never followed through, Bush told Woodward what ever he could do bring down Nixon... and he was successful.
Not a story, not my opinion simply history.
