NYPD officer accused of drunken street-grab rape
Source: Associated Press

A drunken off-duty police officer grabbed a teacher off a residential street, showed her a gun and forced her to a deserted backyard where he raped her, authorities said.

"You're coming with me," he told the woman, after opening his jacket to display his weapon, police said.

Officer Michael Pena was arrested Friday by responding officers after a witness who lives in the upper Manhattan building saw through her window that something was happening in the backyard and called 911, police said.

Pena is an officer in the New York Police Department's 33rd Precinct in Washington Heights, south of the Inwood neighborhood, where he's accused of raping the woman. He was arrested on charges of forcible rape and was behind held pending an arraignment

2. He's been suspended without pay
That's like the NYPD self-investigatory equivalent of the death penalty! Usually its suspended with pay. Any bets on how long the investigation will last before they find that he acted appropriately and all charges are dropped?

3. I doubt that will be the outcome of this investigation.
I will wager this guy is going to end up in prison for a long time as he should.

4. Until the evidence is ***oops!*** destroyed. Like Perry's emails.
Like whatever was in Cheney's office fire. Like the SEC MUI records. Like Democratic votes in presidential elections. "Oops! Sorry. No harm done."

7. What a sick bastard! I hope someday he'll get a taste of his own medicine.
Both a cop an a rapist...that should make him real popular with his fellow inmates.

8. You can't overrun Constitutional rights, push racial profiling and disrespect females ....
if you put honest cops on the job --

Remember, when they assassinated JFK in Dallas, 50% of their police force

were KKK --

When they assassinated RFK in Los Angeles, 50% of their polcie force were John Birchers --

thanks to Koch Family!!

10. ..
Don't assume this guy will get away with this. Not every cop is corrupt despite the popular belief. Besides the way it happened made a coverup pretty much impossible. The fact that he was caught red handed at the crime scene while carrying his badge/ID and with witnesses besides...the only way he would get off scott free is if there was some blatant corruption used. If they tried it the protesting and/or riots would be huge.

The fact that they gave him leave WITHOUT pay makes it obvious that the PD there pretty much thinks he is guilty and that he will be found as such.
