Jon Huntsman gets Jeb Bush Jr.'s endorsement for 2012
Source: McClatchy

By Marc Caputo and Patricia Mazzei | The Miami Herald

With cellar-dwelling poll numbers and a campaign shake-up to boot, Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman plans a "major announcement" on Wednesday morning in South Florida: The endorsement of Jeb Bush Jr.

His campaign said Bush Jr. will serve as national co-chair of GenH, with the mission to reach out to young people. Also joining the campaign is Republican political strategist Ana Navarro, of Miami. Her title: National Hispanic Chairperson.

Said Bush Jr. in a statement: “Jon Huntsman is the best-prepared candidate to defeat President Obama in Florida and across the country. I am confident that his vision will appeal to young voters, who are alarmed at the trillions of dollars in debt being passed to our generation and who desperately seek jobs and economic opportunity. Washington needs a conservative problem-solver with Jon Huntsman’s record of results."

Said Navarro in a statement: “Jon Huntsman’s broad appeal to young voters and Hispanic voters clearly separates him from the rest of the Republican primary field. He is uniquely qualified to win the primary election in Florida and also put Florida back into play for Republicans in the 2012 general election. I am extremely proud to endorse his candidacy and look forward to working tirelessly on his behalf in the great state of Florida."

And why I was against his appointment to serve in China where Bushes control EVERYTHING the US fascists have been doing with China since the mid70s.

2. I might find him more interesting... if he showed up at the next debate
and chose to speak only in Mandarin Chinese or Cantonese. Just seeing the faces of Romney and Pawlenty... while Bachmann would probably not even notice--good for a few laughs.

3. Then I predict he'll be their man.
An endorsement from the shrubbery means power & $ & evil. The great trifecta.

6. Then Huntsman is a Neo-Conservative.
Despite his rhetoric, an endorsement from the Bush family means he will continue the Neo-Conservative agenda.

22. Huntsman is FAR from a neo-conservative
And while the bush family is evil as hell, endorsements dont mean you are who the endorser is. Thats a repug tactic; chavez says he likes obama.... that means obama is a communist.

A Huntsman presidency would pretty much be like this Obama presidency has been.

9. While the media circus focuses on the clowns
like Bachman and Santorum and Perry and even Romney Huntsman is quietly getting support from the GOP establishment. I would not be surprised if the powers behind the scene ignore primary results and nominated him, in which case I would be very, very scared: he's one candidate I think can beat Obama.

12. It is looking like it will be the battle of the mormons for the top of the ticket.
Huntsman vs. Romney. The rest of the gang will be auditioning for VP.

It seems to me that the WH would rather face Romney, Plouffe has mentioned his fear of Huntsman, with his Paul-like libertarian positions on issues such as war, drugs and civil unions. The recent story about the WH planning to attack Romney was possibly an attempt to elevate Romney and reinforce his position as front-runner.

If the Bush machine gets behind Huntsman, Romney will have a hard time and if those are the two most viable candidates, the mormonism issue will be moot in the primary.

25. "the mormonism issue will be moot in the primary." I don't think that will play well in the South.
Honestly, I could see a ton of GOPers staying home on election day. I've got no problem with that. I'm just a bit surprised that a high GOP operative like a Bush would even allow that as a possibility. We'll see...

looks like huntsman jr is romney's 3rd cousin once removed.

so i guess no matter who wins they keep it in the family.

13. So let us understand this...
Bush Jr. is telling us that Huntsman won't incur another 6 trillion in debt, like the previous BFEE occupants of the White House did. I'll believe that when the chickens vote for Colonel Sanders.

20. Remember that it's only bad when a Democrat runs up debt. A Republican
can run up debts all he wants and that's OK.

24. I keep forgetting the different rules...
So IYAR,

- You can run up the debt as much as you want
- You can bitch about the gummint while cashing your SS check
- You can attend Koch brothers rallies by driving on socialist roads
- You can let children suffer while claiming to be the very best sort of Christian
- You can complain about the librul media while listening to Limbaugh, Hannity and Coulter
- You can pontificate for hours about "are freedoms" while frothing about teh gay
- You can keep 25 guns in your basement while whining about them being taken away

Just a quick review; there's a bunch more, and it's hard to keep track sometimes.

14. For what it's worth, the right wing website Daily Caller is saying that Jeb has denied that
he has endorsed Hunstsman. I apologize for quoting a right wing website, but they might have this right. If Jeb wants to deny this story, he might very well use a right wing website to do it.

26. Who is Jeb Bush, Jr?
Yes, I know he's Jeb's son, but who is he personally that his endorsement would have any value? Seems to be on the same level as getting an endorsement from Bristol Palin (come to think of it, that might have more value...)
