Arkansas man arrested for chemical threat causing Junction City motel evacuation, I-70 closure
Source: KTKA

A 911 tip led Junction City Police to evacuate a motel and later resulted in the closure of a large stretch of I-70.

At 10:32 a.m., Junction City/Geary County dispatch received a call advising that a hazardous material had intentionally been placed in room #123 at the Ramada Inn in Junction City. Junction City Police and Fire immediately set up a perimeter around the motel and began an evacuation. Officers also traced the call to exit 299 on I-70.

A suspect was described as being in a green pickup truck with anti-government statements on the side of the vehicle. Kansas Highway Patrol troopers spotted the vehicle on I-70 near milepost 346. They initiated a felony stop, investigated the vehicle and placed a man in custody.

Fifty-year-old Christopher Spence, of Conway, Arkansas, was brought into Junction City for questioning. He is charged with aggravated criminal threat after questioning by Junction City Police and the FBI.

As someone who hails from Arkansas, I find your comment to be a little odd, to say the least.

7. Our guys are all confused.
I have watched with amazement the comment section of our local paper ever since Brownback initiated his marriage ideas. I think he has gone a little too far for even his base. I don't think their brains are working very well at the moment, they are stunned and angry and not at regular people these days. Confusion rules the day except for a few things like Gays and abortion. A stunned and confused FRfreak can't possibly make a bomb or plan something while in the state they appear to be in at the moment. Idiots did not see this coming.

9. What do you mean Freeps can't plan while in a state of confusion?
That is their normal state of consciousness.

12. I think the fact that "their guy"
wants to intrude on their marriages has confused the confused so much that they are having to stop thinking with their gut and use their unexercised minds. They don't even know where they stand right now.

Seriously, I agree with you but if you had read the stuff that I read in the comment section of the local (lol local) rag you would be amazed. Normally I just pass that by, I end up sad and angry and depressed. WAY too many teabaggers here. It has been fun watching them wonder what happened. When the governor exceeds even the bounds of the teabaggers you know it is bad.

11. Isn't that the same motel Timothy McVeigh
Edited on Mon Jul-25-11 04:59 PM by Seedersandleechers
stayed in before he blew up the OKC federal building?

From PBS: "Tim rented a storage shed in Herington, Kansas, in the name of Shawn Rivers. Also during this period, Terry rented a storage shed at Council Grove for his household belongings. They were staying at the Sunset Motel in Junction City or sleeping in the back of his truck at Geary State Lake. The remainder of the fertilizer was put into storage in Herington. (Tim thought the date he rented the storage shed was 9.25.94)"
