Report: FBI raids alleged Anonymous homes
Source: CNET

The FBI searched three homes allegedly of Anonymous members early this morning, Fox News is reporting.

According to Fox News, the FBI had warrants to search two homes in Long Island, N.Y., and another in Brooklyn on suspicion that people living in those homes are alleged Anonymous members. The agents had warrants to search the homes and seize computers and "computer-related accessories," Fox News reported.

The three people cited in the search warrants apparently were between their late teens and early 20s.

Law enforcement has had some success targeting Anonymous members. Last year, an alleged 16-year-old member of the group was arrested in the Netherlands. In January, five people were arrested for allegedly having ties to Anonymous. Following those arrests, the FBI executed more than 40 search warrants to root out Anonymous members in the U.S.

1. Okay, so a government agency with thousands of college and field
trained employees has managed to round up a small handful of teens living at home?

12. FBI raids LI homes in hacking case
Source: Newsday

FBI agents raided two locations on Long Island and one in Brooklyn Tuesday morning seeking computers that have been used by an international hacking group that has taken credit for breaking into the computer systems of a number of corporations and at least one police department, according to an FBI spokesman.

No one was arrested, according to Tim Flannelly, an FBI spokesman in New York.

The raids were made on Carley Court in Merrick; Seaman Avenue in Baldwin; and McKibben Street in Brooklyn, according to sources familiar with the raids.

The sources said that the computers at those addresses had been used by a group calling itself Anonymous, which has taken credit recently for breaking into corporate and police department computer systems, including those of Mastercard, Visa, and PayPal.
