Moving Online, (Glenn) Beck Will Charge Viewers a Fee

Glenn Beck is planning to charge his fans a monthly subscription for his daily talk show online starting this summer, as he makes the move from being a Fox News host to the owner of his own Internet network.

On Tuesday, Mr. Beck will announce a first-of-its-kind effort to take a popular — but also fiercely polarizing — television show and turn it into its own subscription enterprise. It is an adaptation of the business models of both HBO and Netflix for one man’s personal brand — and a huge risk, as he and his staff members acknowledged in interviews in recent days.

“I think we might be a little early,” Mr. Beck said of his plan for the Internet network, called GBTV, which will cost $5 to $10. “But I’d rather be ahead of the pack than part of it.”

The business decision by Mr. Beck’s company, Mercury Radio Arts, hinges on an expectation that more and more people will figure out how to view online shows on their TV sets through set-top boxes and video game consoles — and that they will subscribe directly to their favorite brands.

So at least those of you who subscribe to cable or satellite with Fox News in the lineup won't be paying Glenn Beck anymore! And I wonder if Beck will lose much of his audience due to his new premium fee. His radio show will still be on terrestrial though.

1. I wonder how fast his show will die?!?!
This may be the best thing he can do for the planet. They don't want to give a nickel for anything and not to hear some nut ramble on.

7. If they invested in gold they might have the cash. Gold has done quite well.

Maybe gold has done well, but his sheep got hooked up with his sponsor Goldline. Goldline sells gold for between 4 and 10 times its spot price (i.e, 4 to 10 times what it is worth). Thus, gold would have to double or triple from today's prices just to have the corporate tools who bought gold in the last few years break even.

Far below 4 and 10 times spot.

16. Uh, no
As documented in the Federal case against Goldline, when you call them like the good little obedient corporate tool/sheep you are, you get told that you can do much better by buying "collectible" coins, which they sell at 4 to 10 times the going rate for the same thing on Ebay.

22. Exactly!
You got it. Beck listeners are self-hating sheep, who want to be fleeced.

BTW, it should be "you're". I'm sure you get this correction a lot.

10. So now they need only to make "The Walking Dead" a reality TV
show in justification of those activities, and lure a few more Jason Loughner's into their madness.

figure out how to work that darn fangled computer machine.

The money will also be a factor though. Conservative ideals usually end where their wallets begin.

On the plus side, I hear that with the monthly subscription fee you get free admission to Beck University! You will still have to buy your own books.

On edit: Then again I understand the monthly fee, he seems to have a problem with advertisers.

Berlin Betty Beck grows more ridiculous everyday.
Even that National Socialist Comedy Network Fox
dumped him. Beck has made multi $$Millions as a
mouthpiece for Corporate/Religious Interests, who
are intent on overthrowing the Republic for a
putrid Theocracy of pseudochristian Ayatollahs.
