US 'would repeat Bin Laden raid'
Source: BBC News

US President Barack Obama has said he would order a similar operation to that which killed Osama Bin Laden if another militant leader was found in Pakistan.

He said the US was mindful of Pakistani sovereignty but said the US could not allow "active plans to come to fruition without us taking some action".

The killing of Bin Laden by US forces in a Pakistani garrison town on 2 May strained ties between the two allies.

President Obama was speaking to the BBC ahead of a European visit.

5. Presumably there's no association then.
:sarcasm:

Aside from that they hardly be likely to refer to 9/11 as such. That's a meaningless expression outside of the US - most of the world uses day/month. To the rest of us the only thing of significance to which 9/11 could refer was the Berlin wall coming down.

How Osama Cracked FBI's Top 10 (Sept 27, 2001)

Let Bin Laden stay free, says CIA man
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/article410125.ece

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article13664.htm

Remember, on June 5, 2006, FBI spokesman, Chief of Investigative Publicity Rex Tomb said, “The FBI has no hard evidence connecting Usama Bin Laden to 9/11.” This should be headline news worldwide. The challenge to the reader is to find out why it is not. Why has the U.S. media blindly read the government-provided 9/11 scripts, rather than investigate without passion, prejudice, or bias, the events of September 11, 2001? Why has the U.S. media blacklisted any guest that might speak of a government sponsored 9/11 cover-up, rather than seeking out those people who have something to say about 9/11 that is contrary to the government’s account? And on those few rare occasions when a 9/11 dissenter has made it upon the airways, why has the mainstream media ridiculed the guest as a conspiracy nut, rather than listen to the evidence that clearly raises valid questions about the government’s 9/11 account? Why is the Big Media Conglomeration blindly content with the government’s 9/11 story when so much verifiable information to the contrary is available with a few clicks of a computer mouse?

The embassy bombings occurred on August 7th 1998 and bin Laden was indicted for them on November 4th of the same year - less than three months after the attack. Yet the US, in the almost ten years since 9-11, never issued an indictment nor were formal court hearings scheduled.

13. There was a very large reward out on Bin Laden
Edited on Sun May-22-11 09:49 AM by dipsydoodle
subsequent mention of which is notable only by it's absense. There are rumours that the CIA actually had someone working either in the compound or at least close at hand.

$25m reward for Bin Laden not paid

Three weeks after the al Qaeda leader was shot dead by crack US forces at his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, officials said his death was the result of electronic intelligence and not information from any one informant.

The decision ends speculation that an insider within Bin Laden's own group had helped the CIA track down bin Laden to his hideout in Pakistan. However if there was a mole in the operation, US officials would be unlikely to reveal that to be the case.

that TORTURE does not work! I have no doubt Osama Bin Laden was behind the 9/11 Attacks & you know the CIA tried to get KSM to say he was & he NEVER DID!! (That I know of)

So please correct me if I am wrong...Do not want to be wrong.

Klaus Bednarz: "And the propaganda war goes on in the past week, the U.S. government presented in English translation and an amateur video that shows bin Laden in a circle of followers, and according to President Bush.
Should be 'A damning admission of guilt' Bin Laden.

MONITOR has expressed concern the State Department, the Arabic text version of the video tape and analyzed by independent, certified Arab and German linguists and orientalists have.

And behold: The presented by the U.S. government to the world English translation is manipulated not only partially but even contains errors. A report by Ekkehard Sieker and Georg Restle. "

Dr. Abdel El M. Husseini, Arabist. "I have checked the translation of the Pentagon's carefully This translation is very problematic It is the most important points that would prove the guilt of Bin Laden, not identical with the Arab tone.."

Example 1: According to the Pentagon translation says Bin Laden: "We have calculated the number of deaths of the enemy in advance. " "Pre", in English: "in advance"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the October 2004 tape (which was an 'October Surprise' that gave W Bush a huge 6 point bounce right before the election) where Bin Laden supposedly finally takes credit is VERY dodgy ( as were most)

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0410/29/lkl.01.html

CRONKITE: What we just heard. So now the question is basically right now, how will this affect the election? And I have a feeling that it could tilt the election a bit. In fact, I'm a little inclined to think that Karl Rove, the political manager at the White House, who is a very clever man, he probably set up bin Laden to this thing. The advantage to the Republican side is to get rid of, as a principal subject of the campaigns right now, get rid of the whole problem of the al Qaqaa explosive dump. Right now, that, the last couple of days, has, I think, upset the Republican campaign.

KING: Are there enough undecideds to tilt this? Or what do you think of the whole election picture?

CRONKITE: Well, I think it's one of the biggest messes we've had in a long time. I believe that we're undoubtedly not going to know the results of this election. I don't want to knock you off the air on Monday night or anything, or Tuesday night. But I suspect that we're not going to know who the next president is, whether it is Bush or the new man, until very probably sometime in the early spring. There's so much controversy that they're planting, deliberately planting at the polls, that there's almost certainly to be a suit going back to the Supreme Court eventually, going through the other courts slowly first.

7. Obama: We'd raid Pakistan again if militant found
Source: msnbc.com

LONDON — President Barack Obama said he would approve a new incursion into Pakistan if the United States found another leading militant there, he said in a BBC interview broadcast on Sunday.

U.S. Navy SEALs killed al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, in a raid on his fortified compound in Pakistan on May 2, ending a manhunt for the world's most-wanted militant.

Asked if Obama would do the same again if the United States discovered another "high-value target" in Pakistan or another country, such as a senior al-Qaida member or Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Omar, he said he would "take the shot."

"We are very respectful of the sovereignty of Pakistan. But we cannot allow someone who is actively planning to kill our people or our allies' people, we can't allow those kind of active plans to come to fruition without us taking some action," Obama told the BBC.

12. Yes, it was really stupid to say that. Unless it's macho chest-beating, I don't understand
why Obama would publicly say such a thing. It certainly will not make relations with Pakistan better because I'm sure that they likely already knew this, it just didn't need to be broadcast by the President of the United States to the world.

with '67 borders.

Not without the gumption to back it up, with sanctions, cuts in welfare payments to Israel, maybe a no-fly zone.

Why didn't this fucking fucking world end yesterday? I share the disappointment of the Rapturists. (Poor harmless fools.)

Thank god I am 75 and won't have to see WWIII unfold! Pakistan, Syria, Iran, the Neocon wish list of seven countries.

A disappointing number of the American people will continue to believe one government lie after another and go along with the elites' deliberate policy of endless war! War and weapons being the major industry of the US killing machine.

And now it's time for all the CIA newly created fake social network folk to jump on me. DU has been taken over. It is not the DU I began to follow daily 11 years ago.

Sad.

When will this country start to address the very real world problems that are coming at us like a freight train?

Overpopulation, nuclear weapons, lack of fresh water, lack of health care, food production, collapse of world fish stocks and many more problems that I'm sure you are aware of.

Most of these problems based on the flawed belief of ever increasing supply and profits.

Yes it is sad. It didn't have to be this way.
