8. I live in Britain, so I have a right to healthcare
Apparently, that means my doctor is a slave. What a kook. My doctor is paid for his work, and is not legally owned by another human being, meaning he doesn't fit the accepted definition of a slave. But libertarians are overgrown spoilt toddlers who think that having to follow any sort of rule or regulation is slavery.

12. Will he pitch a hissy fit and run as Independant if (when) he doesn't get publican nomination?

I think Ron Paul would do great running on the Libertarian ticket, after he sees the writing on the wall for the publican party we should all urge him to run as Libertarian.

13. Ron Paul is Lipstick on the Libertarian Pig
Representative Paul has said in the past he will let the courts sort out environmental issues, it's a private property thing. So it's a license to pollute, then try to remedy the situation in acourt system stacked with pro-business judges. Great.

He named his son what? Rand Paul? As in Ayn Rand Paul???

29. Does Rand Paul know he was named after a TYPEWRITER??
Ayn Rand got her pen name from a typewriter: A Remington Rand.

The same Remington that makes firearms.

15. Before campaign swing, Ron Paul plans 'major announcement' Friday
Edited on Thu May-12-11 12:13 PM by brooklynite
Source: MSNBC

Rep. Ron Paul, a Libertarian presidential candidate in 1988 and a Republican contender in the last presidential race, is giving it another try.

Paul has already formed a formal exploratory committee for a presidential run, a significant step in running for president -- although according to the Federal Election Commission he has not yet filed an official statement of candidacy.

But, looking for another bite at the media apple, Paul will "make a major announcement" on Good Morning America on Friday morning, according to a Paul spokesman. It's another opportunity for the Texas lawmaker to draw additional attention to his scheduled appearances in early primary states New Hampshire and Iowa during a two day campaign swing beginning Friday morning – and of course, to raise money for another bid.

20. I don't have the negative vibe y'all do
I would never vote for him, but he is basically honest and consistent representing a political view that I don't agree with. I agree with him on bank bailouts, the fed, the drug war, war in general.

In short, I'd love to see a Paul vs. Kucinich race.

I'd worn my ass off for kucinich, but if the president is going to be a republican I would prefer Paul over anyone other republican.

24. I love Ron Paul.
Not in a carnal or brotherly sense, but that guy rips the Republican war machine in a way no Democrat could.

And at the same time, he will never be elected President.

Useful tool.

27. Exactly.
War, torture, civil liberties, he's on board with a lot of good stuff, and he's very good at defending his position.

Too bad about the social safety nets he wants to cut. He could be Kucinich's double on many issues.

30. He wants to get rid of FEMA.
Make everybody go out and buy private insurance to protect themselves from every kind of disaster that could possibly happen. One can only guess that many people wouldn't be able to afford that and consequently lots of natural disaster areas would never be rebuilt and the victims would simply lose everything. "My neighbors didn't have insurance so now my property is surrounded by deserted rubble." Great idea, Ron.

But insurance company bosses and investors would be rollin' in the dough so whoopee! :eyes:
