Flood of applicants wipes out emergency unemployment fund (Oregon)

SALEM -- An emergency unemployment fund designed to provide about 17,000 out-of-work Oregonians another six weeks of benefits will run out in half the time.

Instead of the 17,000 expected to be eligible for the benefits, the actual figure was about 22,000, said Craig Spivey of the Oregon Employment Department.
