AP sources: video of bin Laden at-sea burial by US personnel might be publicly released
Source: AP

Monday, May 2, 3:57 PM

WASHINGTON — Two Pentagon officials say the at-sea burial of Osama bin Laden was videotaped and that it probably will be publicly released soon.

The officials said photos of the body prior to its disposal in the North Arabian Sea on Monday also may be released.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because decisions on releasing the materials were pending.

It was not clear whether the firefight in which U.S. forces are said to have shot bin Laden to death was videotaped.

1. I heard he was shot in the left eye...
and I don't need a tape to prove to me he is dead.

However, if they put one up, I'd be fine w/that. I can tell you this though, no matter what they produce, no one who doesn't want to will believe it anyway, some people are already trying to make this look like a bush "win". If bush couldn't do this 7.5 years and brag about it; but PO could get it done in just under 2.5, I have no idea how this could conceivably be a bush "win", if anything it actually makes him look more inept, (if that's possible!)

2. They're offering the funeral not the body.
If they're following Muslim law, it was encased in clay and weighted so there wouldn't be anything to see but adherence to custom.

7. Do you think parading him around the country would have done any good?
The way I figure it, this showed respect for the religion, not the man. In fact, the entire incident showed bin-Laden to be a coward, something not well taken in the Muslim, (or any other), community.

If we wish to have any good come out of the tragedies bin-Laden imposed on so many, we should begin with respect, not for bin-Laden, but for the religion he so erroneously represented.
