1 Dead, 10 Sent To Hospital After Massive Overdose

BLAINE, Minn. (WCCO) — One person is dead and 10 more are hospitalized, including several in critical condition after a mass overdose, according to police.

Blaine Police responded to a residence on the 9500 block of Monroe Street NE, just after midnight on Thursday for a medical situation involving an alleged overdose of synthetic drugs. Police say the substance ingested was legal.

Police say several teens and young adults ingested a substance, thought to be the designer drug known as “2 C-I,” which is a reported hallucinogenic. Authorities say other victims fled the residence and were suffering the effects of the overdose at separate locations.

It was found in studies on rats. Multiply it up to "human" size, and it would take about 1500 pounds of pot to reach it. That will be hard to smoke quickly enough, but I don't doubt that someone could come up with an apparatus to do so.

You can also OD from water. It takes drinking several gallons in a couple hours.

It's a suburb of Minnespolis/St. Paul, so there is plenty to do around there. This incident has more to do with stupidity than anything else.
