Protesters thank Democrats at Wisconsin Capitol
Source: Associated Press

MADISON, Wis. – Protesters outside the Wisconsin Assembly are thanking Democrats as they emerge from the chamber after passage of an explosive bill taking away public workers' collective bargaining rights.

The Democrats voted against the bill, which passed 53-42 Thursday. Four Republicans joined the Democrats to oppose it.

The protesters are exchanging high-fives with the Democrats and chanting "thank you" as they wind through the crowd.

Right after the vote, the protesters yelled "Shame!" as Republicans left the Assembly under heavy guard.

10. The Dem 14's goal was to educate the public on the specifics
of the bill. They did that during these last few weeks. Otherwise Walker's poodle Repugs would have rammed the bill through in a few days. Yes, it got rammed through in the end but the public is aware of the bill's items for the most part and the fight has only begun. I thank the Dem 14.

3. The Democrats in DC should take heed of who these State level Dems fought for,
and the public response to their efforts.
