Kapanke says he expects recall organizers to gather needed signatures

State Sen. Dan Kapanke said this afternoon that he expects those organizing a recall effort against him would gather the needed signatures to trigger an election.

Still, he said he was undeterred by the effort and remained committed to the guv's budget repair bill.

Kapanke, R-La Crosse, said he's taken tough votes before on things like breaking with his caucus on TABOR and the indexing of the gas tax. He insisted that the repair bill was what is needed to straighten out the state's finances and stop kicking the can down the road.

"I'm willing to stand up and take that vote," Kapanke said.

1. Either he's "undeterred" because he doesn't care to be a state senator
or because the Koch brother$ have his back to $ave his seat in a recall election.

2. I signed the petition yesterday. They need 15,000 something
but are looking to get 24,000 to be safe. I think we will get the needed signatures and Democrats here have more than enough reason to get out and vote in the special election. That's where we will have the advantage because this is certainly a case where one side will be more motivated to vote than the other.

I remember this sign I saw in Madison:

3. oh, fer cristsakes, stop calling it a "guv's budget repair bill."
It has nothing to do with the budget and everything to do with union busting and selling utilities to koke bros.

I'm sure the koke bros are going to take good care of kapanke.

10. No kidding. The correct terminology would be:
Wanker's cruel and disgusting power and money grab bill.

8. Looks like Walker is going to bend. I wonder if it because of
the recalls or because the Koch Brothers don't like all the media attention he's giving them. I hope these recalls proceed whatever happens. It may be that the Reagan Democrats in the unions have had enough. I hope so. It is about time.
