Strickland denounces ‘tyrant’ Kasich
Source: Gongwer News Service

Former Gov. Ted Strickland, not even two months out of office, appeared at the statehouse yesterday, stoking up the union crowds as they rallied against a bill that would wipe out collective bargaining for state workers.

In an interview with Gongwer News Service, which covers the statehouse, Strickland said:

“We had an election and the people chose Mr. Kasich, but they did not give him a mandate to do what he is doing,” Mr. Strickland said. “He got less than 50% of the vote – he got more votes than I did, and I acknowledge that, and I’m not trying to be a sore loser here – but most of the people in this state did not vote to embrace his radical agenda.”

“They did not vote for him to dismantle organized labor, they did not vote for him to become a tyrant and treat people they way I believe he’s treating them.”

Ted's state had the same economy as 49 other states did. But hey, I guess let's give a corrupt Lehman Fauxoid Fascist like Kasich the reins. THAT'LL show Wall Street.

11. something is wrong
Strickland did not run for Gov..this time. It was Strickland's lieutenant Governor that ran against Kasick. And the lieutenant Governor had never won a political office in his life. Democrats are their on worst enemy putting the wrong candidate up against this immoral A$$. The AG was a better choice to run because she had balls but no funding. She did at least won elective office on her on merit.

14. You're way off. I think you're mixing up the senate race with the governor's. Strickland did run
and he lost to this douchebag.

15. I live in Ohio and I didn't for for Ksuck
I would rather be dead than vote Republican. With the questionable voting and tabulating machines, "close" polls, and no exit polls, we can't be sure that any of these tyrants were elected. Brunner made a huge effort to get to the bottom of faulty machines, but who knows if they are secure, even now? Anyway, as an Ohioan, I supported the Dems who ran, support union labor, planned parenthood, pro-choice, diversity in all its beautiful variation, and I hate what is happening. I knew that if Ksuck, et al got elected, they would try to impose their filthy belief system on everyone. Can we recall these assholes? We've been wondering since this news broke last week.

I saw a poll result from Columbus Dispatch, and 87% of respondents were against revoking collective bargaining for the state employees. So who are repukes representing?

16. They should have never voted Strickland out of office (and I'm not so sure Ohioans did).
I'm glad to see Strickland getting out there. I'm also glad to see some of the Dems that lost in the last election cycle still being visible and reminding the constituents that you get what you vote for.

As much as they protest, there are many Republicans who reap union benefits. When you vote Republican, you get the whole, conservative and corporate-fellating package.
