Feb 12 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia said it welcomed the peaceful transition of power in Egypt, the state news agency reported on Saturday, one day after popular unrest forced Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to step down.

2. I think that the struggle for democracy has just begun. The real
work lies ahead. I would not be surprised if there were changes in the command of the military or at least attempts to make changes. We shall see. Mubarak, apparently, is staying in Egypt as are his supporters. They are very wealthy. Meanwhile the demonstrators have to return to their jobs. They have gained a promise that something will change. But in reality it is the same old, same old.
